WHO do you THINK you are kidding? I have witnesses who have heard you trash talk ONE of the VERY IMPORTANT media partners you list here...saying "...I hope [their shows] disappear...their show [here] sucks...they probably won?t have one in 2010..." if THAT is how you show your "support" I am SO HAPPY to not have it from you!

If I attended shows regularly, your lack of professionalism here would make me reconsider attending yours. :2 cents:

If AVN feels that THIS show has the "most" everything, then they're saying that people should be attending and investing in THIS show. That's going to take away attendees and sponsors from the OTHER shows...some of which are AVN's "media partners".

It probably wasn't an intentional attempt to have sponsors and attendees abandon his partners shows, but the statement wasn't exactly well thought out either. I could see the media partners who run smaller shows being a little ticked off by that.

Point nailed.

welcome to Marketing.

he says it will be the best attended show, and im assuming thats a fact he knows for sure (otherwise he wouldnt say it, and you did not dispute it)

the "Take note for the future, attend and invest your marketing budget in the shows that deliver the MOST VALUE, MOST ATTENDEES, and the MOST DECISON MAKERS" was just puffery, "look at what we have done, and in the future, put your money where it gets the most impact"

nothing wrong there except it apparently got an emotional reaction out of xbiz

If there were no media partners to consider then I'd agree with you 100%. Then it's a direct competition and almost anything goes. When you factor in that your "partners" are ALSO your "competitors", then I believe you need to be a LOT more careful with your wording.

Like I said, I don't think it was done with the intent to hurt their partners, but someone reading it could easily take it as that.

I just dont see anyone but Alec being butt hurt from my words - and even that wasnt intended.

Alec my deepest sympathies.

Well.. Being maybe the "smallest" dog in this pound, I don't know what to think.

But Since we proved time again that QWEBEC Expo is a very productive show even if it is more "intimate" than Big Players' ones. I think I won't feel too much concerned.

That being said, no matter the number of attendees at Internext, I had a TERRIFIC one... Same with both Xbiz Shows I went latelly (Vegas last year & LA this winter)... Shows are waht you make out of 'hem :2 cents:

See you all in Montreal in few weeks folks :thumbsup

That's the one thing Florida lacks, if I want falafel or tabouleah I have to go to the grocery store. We have one lebanese / falafel house around here and, well, it's not so good. Lots of greek joints here and a handful of them serve homemade hummus though :thumbsup

this has made me hungry. I think I might have some tonight with some pita or naan.

Breaking bread can bring the peace.

Sure we are partners with AVN... I take no offense tho.

I'm not worried about losing attendees and sponsors. EVERYONE lost sponsors this year.

And for those who attended Cybernet Expo SF in 2008 and 2009... you know first hand that our attendance was actually UP this year.

All the competition has caused me to work harder and smarter. 2010 will be no different.

See you at Cybernet Expo :D

Thanks for these tasteful comments Chris.

I'm sure everyone else who's heritage is from the middle east region will appreciate them too.

C H R I S 08-11-2009 12:47 PM

I am really going to eat now. I love middle eastern food.

My best freind is Iranian so dont you dare call me a racist.

CE_Ardy 08-11-2009 12:48 PM

If you're going to make racial insults, get them right......

Falafel - Originally from Egypt

Hummus - Originally from Saudi Arabia

Tabouleah - Also From Saudi Arabia

babbaganouesh - Also of Arabic origin

Maybe Chelokebab, juje kebab, shirazi salad would be more appropriate for persians.

I think we all know u r not a racist...I certainly wouldn't be friends with you if you were. However, that doesn't change the fact that those comments do look insensitive given the nature of this thread and the overall tone that's been going back in forth.

XPays 08-11-2009 01:05 PM

you all need to take a walk over to affiliatesummit in january at the piece of crap rio. or, go to an ad-tech in s.f.. the point is that other industries have bustling shows that are teeming with web merchants & publishers. they are partying way fucking harder than we have in adult too. the balance of power is rapidly shifting and until the rules of the dmca are adjusted, e-adult will be fighting over the same nickel, no 4 cents, no 3 cents, no .....

fuzebox 08-11-2009 01:08 PM

I love it when the media/show companies fight with each other on GFY... I wonder if they realize how little affiliates and sponsors care.

C H R I S 08-11-2009 01:09 PM
