I was at the beach this weekend and EVERY girl had on a bikini bottom where the side straps rode low and on the widest part of their hips. This made the top part of the bottoms ride straight across.
What this new " trend " does is draw attention to the widest part of a girls body. This look makes a girl not only look fatter it makes her legs look shorter. When a girl wears the side straps higher on the hips it brings attention to what is hopefully a smaller waist and the " V " cut also makes the legs look longer. All the girls I saw the other day, many which had nice bodies, looked like they had dumpy butts with the way they were wearing their bottoms.
Just like wearing black has a slimming effect wearing anything around the widest part of your hips has a fattening affect. I don't care if it's trendy or not. If it looks bad don't do it. Ten years ago a girl wouldn't be caught dead wearing a bikini like I saw the other day.
I have a picture I took the other day for an example but can't upload it right now but I'll email it to someone if they want to post it.
