25 x 2 ....
You can game HYIPs just like you can game the penny stock email scams, but it's nothing more than a gamble.
Only way you will get your money back is Soprano's style. Maybe hire a gangster to beat the money out of him.
Next time give me 1k and I'll kick you in the ballz 5 times......It will be less painful
set his house on fire...

Once, my brother was kind of an idiot and was all into HYIPs (aka scam investment opps that are generally all ponzi schemes) and I think it was like $2k he got taken on through one of them. The person who ran it did get caught and...he was a 16 year old kid! Bilked hundreds of thousands from people and I know at least my bro never got his money back.
Wow, tough stuff :( Hope you make some money back soon.
I'm not one to beat a guy while he's down, so look at this this way: you just spend $25,000 on an education. And in the end, it will probably be more valuable than the $50,000 other guys spent on an M.B.A.:2 cents:
That totally blows...
A friend of mine tried to get me to invest in a medical company that was going to go from .75 to $4.50 in a weeks time. I said no... Stock instead went to .0001 which turned his $10,000 investment into somewhere around $17.89 or some shit... and that is if you can get someone to buy your stock... |
you mixed friends and money basically. sorry about your loss, just keep pushing forward and don't expend too much time/energy dwelling on it or you will lose another 25k with that shit eating away at you. just curious where do you stand with your 'friend' ?
No such thing as guaranteed profits or gains. Unrealistic gains like that above normal shouldve been a red flag. U got scammed. U gambled n lost.
...and there are a few more here, who are just waiting to become the next victims.
the clues "...do homework"...and "get it in writing"..."you can recover it". there is a sliver of truth to those statements. but mostly it shows they don't know how these things are. homework usually involves asking the persons for references and more information and pamphlets. of course what they provide all checks out. get it in writing. sure i can write you any percent you want, give me a million dollars and you name your percentage rate of return to be paid in full the day after never. recover it, not likely. those types go through all the cash. e.g. cars repo'd. hint ! I had a close friend get the same thing some years back. $50k, oil exploration deal. big convention in las vegas (my first clue, hmmm), minimum investments, and all in writing. yes they had the phone answering service, an a well drilling rig picture etc. I tried to warn him prior, but he refused my advice, because he did his homework, and IT WAS IN WRITING. ok then. Same exact promises, a minimum of xx% amount, up to 30% or more. I tried to reason with him, if it was such a sure thing with no risk, even banks would be loaning them the money, and they wouldn't have to pay 'investors' such a high rate! eventually the service stopped answering the phones, zero recovered. good luck. and I'm not faulting you, as much as i warn a few others who think they are smarter than you and could 'do better homework' and or 'get it in writing'. of course i'm not saying reallly sharp guys couldn't figure out the scam, but then again, that old "if it sounds too good to be true, you can be sure it is also works." hey, at least it wasn't the email from nigeria investing money to get larger money scam. |
if you think you are smarter than the 'average' joe you stand a high chance of being scammed. all larceny operates on that very principal, that the victim thinks they are somehow slicker than 85% of the rest of the population. i haven't gotten beat out of any $ in over a year, and in my case it was some damn nigerian selling nonexistent bmw parts on a forum on a compromised username. another variant of their '419' scam. so even if you do check your references (papers and writing in your case) its still no guarantee you're getting a straight deal. just dont let your greed or need to get a lefthanded slick move hookup get the best of you. again sorry about your $ loss man
I invest in my mattress.... 100% foolproof.
Damn sucks to hear. GL tho
I got back about 95% of my $3k investment in 12dailypro through a chargeback. It collapsed shortly after I opened my account so I never had a payout. I consider myself very lucky (and also very stupid)
To the OP, I feel sorry for you, but c'mon man... what are you doing investing your life savings? |

sorry to hear about your cash man... i know that is a tough pill to swallow, i got frauded out of 3K a few years ago by a dude in romania that was going to sell me his car... i still feel pissed about that years later, and a much smaller amount... try to put it behind you, but i know its not going to be easy or probably possible to do so :(:( |
Sorry to hear about this man.
Dont let it get you down though, learn the lesson at hand and plan to move forward. |
Should not invest if you can't afford to lose..
Ouch sorry to hear

The American stock market is the most corrupt and manipulated in the world. It's effectively legalised gambling and if you invest money in it you should treat it as such.
The 3% would have made a big difference over time..
Get more specifics before you drop that kind of cash on someone.. Me I'd never put my life savings all into ONE thing, and if I did, I would have known everything about that guy. Someone would have asked me, hey, this guy you just put all of your money into, what does the inside of his wifes asshole look like? I'm sayin' there are two moles in there one has a single hair the other has three magenta colored rings like saturn.. Stick me for my life savings you just ended my life so I'm comin' at you with guns drawn.. "Here I come son yo I think you better run" Man if I worked all of my life and had some shit and someone just up and took it from me I'd end them and myself.. Just for fun.. or maybe end some things they care for, and me.. just for fun. I hate people like that. I've only been scammed once in my life.. for five bills.. this old black dude FIRST he doesn't stick me 1100 when he has a perfect opportunity.. I had taken my car to him for some work, I come to pick it up and he tells me the truth charges me $20 when he could have claimed to have changed something. Then later he sticks me $500. LoL over here, go figure that one, dummy you're supposed to be extra honest about something for $500 and THEN stick me the $1100.. The guy is an old school friend of my father, I let it slide, I love the guy anyway Oh that and one other guy Kevin Jung in Irvine.. motherfucking fuck. He stuck me $450. On the list. I'll get him :) Come on, you don't stick a fucking k*d for money, that was fucked up |
Speaking of all things ponzi scheme - has anyone else seen the adverts going around online for the 'Brazilian Eucalyptus' plantations?
- 8-14% - 'Government backed' - 'Secured investments' That thing set off alarm bells first time I saw it.. Anyone else think the same? |
gotta love the fact that shit like this can happen and nothing is done about it. Ridiculous that there does not exist laws that protect the little guys. Hope the thieving bastard gets his!!!!!

I was told by one agent at the FBI that they are looking into this case, but probably would not have anything to update me for a few months. I was a bit pissed and said "this guy probably stole MILLIONS from people and you cant do anything?" and his response was "pretty much until we build a case... and that is IF we can." No wonder why there are so many thieves and this country is as fucked up as it is. You can still millions from people and not have to worry the police are doing to do anything. Someone takes a few thousand from you and you punch them in the face your doing jail time for assault. fuck that  |
What does your buddy that introduced you to the scam think of all this? how much did he get burned for?

HOW? beats me unless he is finding new victims. When this first happened I but a ton of blame on my friend, mainly because he said he would even guarantee it himself with stocks that he had. Only to find out later he lost his ass in the stock market. I kept getting on him to get me my money, but he claims he has none either. As for our friendship, its pretty much tainted because of this. Only reason I still talk to him is in hopes that his friend comes across some money and will hand some out. |

wow, that s*cks! I'm sorry to hear, it could happen to anyone and it's pathetic that there's nothing you can do. Except hire someone to break his knees. hint hint
Sorry for that man. Hope you get the money back somehow.
omg this is terrible. I'm so sorry this happened to you. If you want to talk, I'm on IM all day.

Forget about it. Then this time next year put on a ski mask and go beat him until he never walks again.

you trusted a guy you don't know with your life savings ? (and I don't care if it's a friends friend)... I guess a phrase "sucker born every minute" is true :/
