nice post :)

Great story and great story telling. Nice job.

andrej_NDC 09-04-2009 12:27 PM

You was my inspiration...I never broke the 40k/month barrier...but I never had employees and couldn't(or didn't want to) work more than a few hours each week. That was my problem.

andrej_NDC 09-04-2009 12:37 PM

I have a question on you. Did you ever try different pricing options than $20+-/month? More or less, if it was better sales and rebill-wise?

didn't you just get one of your fingers bit off at a protest rally? how are you typing so much with an injury like that? medicaid must be good to you.

Don't worry, lots of successful experienced adult webmasters have hundreds of sites and no backups and get hacked losing everything in the process.

Nice inspirational post man, thanks.

you from Banff?
I spent there almost a week exactly one year ago. such small touristic city that i would never thought that some adult webmasters could even live there.

I had and have backups...thank you very much...but many...if not most...are in php and used SQL...so I have decided not to bother with putting them back up as I assume that they would be hacked again...you are now dismissed.

quiet - i was wondering, what ever happened with your GST issue?

I remember something about they seized money and you hired a lawyer to get it back that took a percentage or something - i even followed some some of it legally though my lawyer but I never bothered to check into what the result was on your problem there?

that's if you want to talk about it - if not then cheers !

goods and services tax people have to pay here in Canada on everything sold.

he had a problem cause the gov't wanted to tax him on all sales, not just the Canadian ones. it's 7% of gross sales. Big legal battle - I got involved too separately as they went after me as well, then it stopped for me cause i had a US company and was structured so I paid from it so there was no Canadian sales from a Canadian company and they investigated that too cause if it's done to avoid paying tax it can be illegal but my loophole was there is no Canadian bank that will process for adult at the time - soon as they found out that was real for me they gave up on that. I remember telling the investigator that if he found me a Canadain bank that would accept CCs for adult I'd use it and he could tax me - they gave up on that point as that was real... not sure but quiet's situation was a little different we looked into it a lot at the time but it wasn't resolved last I looked (years ago).

mopek1 09-04-2009 04:20 PM

GST = Goods and Services Tax

A Canadian Federal Tax

So is UWS offline now? Has that been the case since you retired in 2005?

What was the final impulse for you to retire?

no real impulse, ibill died, and my site with it. i'd already made more than enough, now i'm just involved in wealth preservation, and having fun.

around 6600 a month. maybe a little more. so around 220 a day? i think it was actually more than that at the peak, maybe more like 240? we made a ton of money via rebills too, so not sure (i can find out if you really want to know).

you have to understand that i never had a single affiliate the entire decade i was in adult. that was the beauty of it all. you have to also understand, that i never once used a trial, or any other bullshit. just your straight up, 30 day membership.

I would say that puts you in the top ten sites for the time period. I had no idea. I mean everybody figured out you were huge when whatever douche posted a link to your MRTG, but I had NO idea.

Seriously, when you are moving stuff around the house and you have to shuffle a bunch of garbage bags full of cash out of the way...is it ever a hassle?

Great story, I had heard bits and pieces before. I remember in late 05 or 06 how you said you were still making close to a grand a day on sales and rebills from old galleries even though you were retired. I'm guessing that slowly dropped down, now 4 years after retirement are you still pulling anything in from all those old submissions? When did you shut down your site?

yeah, i still have traffic, but that's not from the paysite, long gone. i just have tons of old pages and links that i now send out to a couple programs.

shut down the site in i guess it was may of 2005.

1. Travel the globe
2. Learn to fly
3. Snowboard constantly
4. Mountain bike
5. Sail around the world
6. See Everest
7. Eat a lot of avocado
8. Solid gold cast of my cock mounted on the hood of an '87 Chevette

hehe, doing most of what you listed. 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and i'm really hoping for number 8 lol.

I do not think I could ever really retire. I enjoy my work too much. It was a hobby I did for free until I monetized it. Now it's a hobby with a pay check.

:pimp

i hear you. i just enjoy other things than working. i travel the world, snowboard all winter, downhill bike all summer, enjoy my sports car, read a ton of books, enjoy concerts, the odd uni course. just don't feel the need to 'work'. but totally get where you are coming from.
