Watched an interesting documentary about rampart on Court TV about a year ago...so all the details are a bit shaky.

Well anyway there were a couple of cops tied to a bank robbery...these cops were also friends with Shug Knight and it goes deeper than that.

Anyway I don't recall exactly what type of car was spotted driving away from the scene of Biggie's murder but anyway after these cops were arrested they found a similar car parked in one of their garages with a shrine to Tupac in there...LOL

Now these cops are in San Quentin and are big time gang leaders.

But more importantly what is starting to worry me about cops is false confessions and the erosion of the miranda rights.

You need to watch this movie on Court TV called "The interrogation of Michael Crowe."

Damn this shit is getting out of hand and to think police organizations actually tried to get the law that forces them to mirandize suspects repealled.

Is that the case where the police were questioning the kid about his sisters murder or something?

Yeah they got him and some other kid a friend to admit to it...and then they accused yet a third friend of his being involved.

They even interviewed a homeless guy who was in the neighborhood and earlier that day followed young girls into an apartment complex but didn't take it any further.

Finally the kid's lawyer had this homeless man's shirt tested again and they found blood where the DNA matched the kid's sister...to this day the cops and prosecutor still think it was the brother...the state has dropped all charges, declared the kids innocent and is now prosecuting the homeless guy.

But damn man watch that show and then watch the show System on court tv and you can see the real interview tapes.

This poor kid spent 8 months in jail, never got to go to his sister's funeral...the family really never got to even mourn...they were too busy trying to take care of this situation.

They aren't? I was under the impression that it was the job of the police department to have all the information they need to enforce the law. Knowing where each active gang's territory is would seem to me to be a vital piece of information -- not just for gang violence task forces, etc, but for the goddamn beat cops who patrol the streets every day. How are you going to be effective if you don't know what goes on, who is allied with whom, who is fueding with whom? Sounds like the cops in toodamnfli's post knew exactly what was goin on, and they used that information to their advantage -- and to cause the probable assault (and death) of the guy they dropped off.

Rap is shit. Do you really think all these white kids in the suburbs who think its cool will still like it when they are 25. LOL. not.

Its only appeal is to inner city people, and young wiggers in the burbs looking for a way to rebel and shock mommy and daddy.

People who dress and act like gangstas, will always be treated as gangstas.

the same thing was said of rock music and zoot suits of the 50's...your point is?

"the same thing was said of rock music and zoot suits of the 50's...your point is?"

The difference is rock music has lasted the test of time and has appeal for people over 16.

Look how many classic rock stations there are.

Do you think some white kid is going to be listening to gin and juice when they are 35 :1orglaugh

of course they will..good music will stand the test of time.Rap affects everyone from ages 13-65. Rap is more than just a music..its poetry in motion.Listen to Ameri Baraka and Olu Dara..rap has been around since the 60's man..it all started from africa and the griots who told stories of their heritage in rhyme format to their children to keep their culture alive. Listen to ATCQ and you will learn a lot about life and social events of the world.

by your format rock is only popular because it has a few classical stations on the radio..typical response from a member of the media flock...do you eat meat? If there was another madcow outbreak because the media said so how long will u do without?

testify brother!

ColKurtz 12-08-2002 04:32 PM

theres not just a few classic rock stations. There is a large one in every city, and often times it is one of the most popular stations in the city.

People listen to it because they like it. Bands like led zepplin, pink floyd, rolling stones, etc, music continue to be popular because its actually good.

Some guy from the hood yelling about bitches and hoes and saying mother fucker every other word dosent have the same appeal to someone over 25 that has attained some maturity.

You can give some bullshit spin about media brainwashing but that is an idiotic stance to use on music that has been popular for 30 years.

The only brainwashing is what goes on top 40 stations, which play a lot of hip hop, that try and convince people what is good music and what they should go and buy.

It's called "classic"-rock for a reason. It's over and done with.

It's called classic rock because it's lasted longer than 2 months in the pop charts with all the manufactured boy bands. I've just come back from a rock bar that played every sort of rock tune from 1978 to 2002 - Hmm when are the rap bars gonna shut that down....?

All this talk about rap music being a new age philosophy is rather comical... but continue.
