As long as I can tell what sort of message they are trying to convey, I'm good with it.

"let's chat about sale's and marketing tool's" doesn't offend me; they can't help being retarded.

Certainly glad that I didn't do that. haha Not saying that I never make typos, but that's only because I try to type way to fast for my own good, but I don't like using the "lingo" that many use. you know I love ya Cirsten (had to do it)

Not at all. Remember: Theres a lot of people that arent english or american. People like me for example. Im sure i make spelling mistakes a lot, but i dont think any of you who talked to me on the messengers ever had trouble understanding what i was saying?

I do hate people posting under fake names after being banned from the forums, if you know what im "spelling" NTM? ;)

Agent 488 09-10-2009 10:47 PM

you can spell "rat" quite well i see.

People that type 'then' instead of 'than' annoy me, it messes with the sentence structure...

The Duck 09-11-2009 01:42 AM

I lose belief in their ability to form gramatically correct words.

Serge Litehead 09-11-2009 01:43 AM

as long message gets across it doesn't matter. spell-checkers are convenient, wish icq had it built in

cam_girls 09-11-2009 02:31 AM

Two English experts could disagree whether a sentence was grammatically correct or not, it's impossible to be perfect.
I don't think it matters much, internet is more like talking with text than writing.

VeriSexy 09-11-2009 02:34 AM

I don't judge...

Yes, especially if it's used as "argument". Some people think ad hominens win their argument. "Either you are stupid - or you spelled wrong. Therefor, I am right." Happens all the time om GFY :1orglaugh

Totally agree... Oh. and your hot..

DWB 09-11-2009 05:53 AM

For spelling, no. For being a retarded asshole who plays bad ass online, yea.

bronco67 09-11-2009 05:57 AM

That depends....are they trying to appear intelligent at that moment?

Sometimes, you say to yourself, "I know those 2 keys are nowhere near each other on the keyboard".

I remember this know-it-all kid at an old job I had. When he used inter-office email with outlook, he had spell check to save his ass. But, if he was out of the office, or at home, he used hotmail, and it had no spell-check. At least at that time there was no spellchecker built in yet.

We all had a great fucking time making fun of this asshole's 2nd grade spelling prowess. One time, he spelled uncle as "unkel". Also, if he made directories on the network, you could tell where he'd been because he left a trail of misspelling disaster in his wake. You kind of felt sorry for the guy at first, but he was such punk, that we all just laughed at him. I just have no respect for people that act like they're above you, and have some superior intellect, but were too lazy to make an attempt to learn proper spelling.

Spell-check generation.

Nicky 09-11-2009 05:58 AM

It depends. If you don't have English as a native language you are excused IMO. When people start talking serious "Engrish" It's annoying/funny though. I know I'm not the best at spelling all the time either, I'm from Sweden though :)

Neighbor 09-11-2009 08:11 AM

misspelling is one thing, but using the absolute incorrect word because they sound the same is just unintelligible. Now that shows lack of education....

example:

using TO when you are meaning ALSO (which is TOO)

beerptrol 09-11-2009 08:21 AM

I kin eyeball and scribble well

NikKay 09-11-2009 10:28 AM

Yes. Yes, I do.

gecko 09-11-2009 11:26 PM

Spelling is not that important

However if it's not a typo (e.g. your/you're, their/there, etc...) Then well, you've had quite a few years to master the English language so either you just don't get it after all these years or you don't care and you're lazy.

Spelling wise, every browser now a days has a built in spell check it's just lazy if you don't bother correcting what you wrote...

I guess it comes down to the fact that I lose respect for lazy people :P
