Few people understand how kids will effect their lives. I know I surely didn't.

These days I explain it like this.... When you were younger you did what you wanted to do when you wanted to. When you were hungry you ate, when you were tired you slept, and when you were bored you went out. When you have a kid, you eat when your kid is hungry (and you'll eat where you kid wants to nine times out of ten), you'll sleep when your kid is sleeping, and when your bored you'll look for something to do that will entertain you kid being as you can't just lock your kid in a closet and go bar hopping.

You get to watch first hand how a child grows up into an adult. You watch them roll over and learn how to walk (then run), learn how to speak, and learn how to make decisions for themselves. Then suddenly you've discovered that they have their own personality and want choices on how they dress, how they spend their free time, what sports and after school things they want to be a part of.

It's an utterly amazing process.

Take lots of pictures. Daily. Trust me on that one.

I got fat after my first kid. I think it was because I hardly ever slept so I had that much more time to eat.

thanks for post Rochard, Ive given a lot of people on the internet shit over politics and on gfy, but in the end, we are all just leave sfalling from the tree, we are only here for a little time and it is up to us to prepare for the next harvest of life.

like it or not, ready or not, to continue the lifeline is what we were put here to do, its my turn and I plan on experiencing what "life" is from the cradle, and ultimately to the grave.

Starting my own family is just another step on the ladder.

My daughter is 21 months old. she has hit the terrible 2s already. I took her out for the 1st time out by myself to Home Depot and she was as cute as can be. Then she wanted to pull down the plants and i told her no. She sat back, layed on the concreat and started kicking and screaming. Through a serious fit in the garden tools section for 10 min. strait.

Then out of no where she was cute and lovable again. That terrible 2s thing lasts till about 4. My girlfriend is a stay at home mom and is great with my daughter. She makes it seem easy, but having a kid is serious work and a full tome job.

Yesterday, swimming with my daughter and watching her jump into the pool to swim with daddy (with a life vest) makes you forget everything bad in life, including the terrible 2s. At least until you have to take her out of the pool.lol


If you got a good woman who understands that you work had so she doesn't have to, then you will be set. But if you got to work 80+ hours a week and when you come home to work some more behind the Mac or PC to edit video and edit pics and your wife says "here your turn" you are fucked!!:2 cents:

Just wait until you have actually had the kid for a few months.

Then you will know some goddam real change lol...

I've aged 5 years in the last 2 since we had our first. You get used to the insomnia, don't you worry :)

Our second spud is due 23rd December, we can race them!

someone who has never had kids will never understand that, haha...they will assume the child is undisciplined and a brat and the parents have no control....they will assume the child is like that 24/7 and of course IF they "had a kid, the kid would EVER behave like that in public"...lol

after 5 kids, I've learned the art of ignoring non-parents giving me parental advice....ok, it started after the 2nd child, but it has grown even moreso since then...

my buddy used to always complain about the odd kid throwing a mini-fit in a store and brag about how his kids would never do that when he had them...flash forward a couple years and 2 kids later and he had his own little meltdown in the cereal aisle, haha...

You will not get bloody snipping the umbilical cord. However, I would advise snipping at the bottom to let it drain before making the final cut.

We were ready for number 1, but didn't expect number 2 to arrive 12 months later.

please don't become one of those people who acts like they are the first and only person to have a kid and therefore their needs are far more important than everyone else in the world.

if it didn't change you I'd say there was something wrong with you.

I mean it's a good thing. Can you imagine if we didn't change once these little buggers came... lol
