Sorry, not a hater, just having an opinion. Sadly in this day and age if someone has an opinion that you do not agree with they are either a hater or troll. Well, the fact of the matter is simple and that is people can form any opinion they want on another person, and just because you don't agree does not make them a hater, troll, or anything else.

I don't know Scott personally in any way shape or form, never met him, or done any real business with him. Purchased spots on his site in the past, but that was through cybercat.

I find Jean-Jman etc whatever, to be just that. Pompous, and self centered. He's said a lot of things in the past that were very focused on himself, he's bro'ed up with a lot of people, and when questioned on his stance on many topics instead of being a "man" as you guys keep saying, he would just avoid the topic, leave the thread, or say something totally pointless like oui-oui.

Jman was there for you and your family, that's great for you, but why do you think a board even cares about that, I know I don't, and I know others don't as well. If you want to come in and have some sort of bromance, and keep speaking about what type of "men" you are, then be able to take the fucking heat when someone does not like you, or what you say, or the type of person you or someone you care for may be.

Take the love fest to a dating site if you want to suck each other off. This thread has your opinion of Jean, that's great and I am glad he did a good deed for you, but what you are saying is your opinion. Others have opinions as well, and on a public message board, in an industry based on freedoms, a main one being freedom of speech suck it up and understand that the world does not love Jean just because you do, and we are not all ready to erect a 40 foot high statue in his honor.

I would have to disagree with that. To me he's merely speaking the truth as he sees it. Someone already mentioned in this thread about there being two sides to every story, well this is the other side. Is this the right thread for it to happen in? Probably not but no matter which board you decided to post this one you'd have zero control over what other people say, right?

In light of the size and nature of the business deal that went sour between them I'm rather surprised this hasn't blown up on the board long before this. I've been expecting it for months now. Not hoping for it, but expecting it.

And no need to disparage GFY or the people who post here over this. Anyone who has ever posted here before should know enough not to bring a topic up unless you're prepared to handle the negative as well, because if there IS a negative out there to be had you know that HERE you're damned well going to get it, usually with both barrels.

And people who know them (Scott & JF) say they'd like to see this mess get repaired between them so they can be friends again, well that's never going to happen unless everyone (who is actually involved directly) starts talking about it. If that has to happen here well, personally that's not the route I would recommend but if that's the only way it gets aired out then so be it.

As for the love for Jman aspect to this thread I've had several albeit brief ICQ conversations with him over the years, last one being a few months ago, all of which have been interesting as well as entertaining. If he ever blows back into town and lets me know it I'd go have a beer with him anytime.

I completely agree that everyone should form their own opinions of people, both in their personal and business dealings. It may be wise to be aware of others' advice, but, in the end, you need to make decisions based upon your experience with an individual.

For example, if I based my opinions of people off this message board, I wouldn't deal or talk to 95% of those found here. Of that remaining 5%, I might think they are solid people due to their positive reputation but 4 out of 5 would be willing to screw you over for a nickel.

I read people quite well. There are a few times, where I have pre-judged people only to change my stance once I got to know them better. Consider it luck if you wish, but overall in my lifetime I can pretty much say I have never really been screwed over by anyone.

That said, I also think the following analogy may apply: if your current girlfriend cheated on her ex but (as far as you know) hasn't cheated on you; the fact remains, she still might cheat on you.

Lastly to sum up the people in this thread:

Dan - I met you many years ago and consider you one of the more "straight" guys I've met through this business. That puts you among a limited number. If you ever do need help that I may be able to lend a hand with, don't hesitate to ask. Hopefully I'll be up there in Montreal this December :)

J.F. - I don't know you much at all, so haven't formed any opinion yet. I've heard both sides about you, on one hand I have heard about things you have done in the past to people (not talking about just Scott here) I know well and trust. On the other hand, you have Dan praising you here for being a good guy and helping him and his family out. Thus, I reserve judgement until such a time as I get to know you better.

Scott - At first, you are probably one of those I "pre-judged" and didn't like at all. However, hanging out a bit at our Costa Rica Bash I learned you were very different than your board persona and not an obnoxious asshole at all. You fit in those rare categories where I do change an opinion after getting to know someone better.
