No, no, no. What bothers me is when someone who rides the same moral low ground as the same group he/she is slamming expects to be rallied on by a bunch of clueless sheep.

Have I ever had anything stolen from me in terms of our adult business? Despite what everyone wants to think the answer is a clear yes. It happens every day and we battle it. How it happens I won't discuss. But it happens more than any of the pay site promoters have to deal with.

Stop your fucking bitching about tube sites. Do you want to know why we ended up as we are? Because we clearly saw that the Orgasm Cash porn site model was collapsing. That was years ago.

Adapt or die. Every successful business does.

Damn that Hitler vid was fucking hilarious...

TheDoc 09-28-2009 04:59 PM

Do you know what makes that video, super super funny?

The video itself is a Copyright Violation.. It's not a parody, it isn't org work. It's straight up, illegal.

But ... that's GFY for ya, yell, bitch, moan and complain.. but hey, here is that YouTube clip of a music video, commercial, etc that is funny/stupid, whatever..

It's a parody for fucks sakes. Seriously, nitpick on a different issue. Fuck originality. It's a goddamn parody.

If you want to rail on people on GFY let me know. I have a bunch of things for you to target. Right now I'm waiting for the guy in Asia to justify the shit I called him out on.

No, that's copyright infringement.. a Parody makes fun of original work, it doesn't steal or copy in this case, the original work and use it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fansub

Because distribution of fan-subtitled content is a violation of copyright laws in most countries, the ethical implications of producing, distributing, or watching fansubs are topics of much controversy.

Enough so... that Youtube kicks them.

NYRangers 09-30-2009 04:36 PM

So only two people slam me for what I said. I honestly figured when I came back to this thread I would have been ripped apart. Especially about the person I called out.

Fuck, this site needs more of the aggressive characters that it had. I actually thought the person I called out would put up a valid argument that we could debate.

I guess when the facts are put on the table it's a different story.

You know what, I have to think this is shit. If this same clip showed up in one of those movies that spoofs on other movies it would be called a parody.

If you don't think the clip makes fun of the original work then I'm going to have a long chat with you debating this. But I don't want to do this here. It would take away from the original meaning of the thread.

LOL at the irony of a fansubbed clip posted in GFY about the downfall of GFY by selling a TUBE skin.

Taking a scene from a movie and adding your own subtitles is called a "fansub"

fansubs are considered copyright infringement to movie studios. LOL

just sayin ;)

Shusshhh... piracy only happens when it happens to me.

Those spoof movies, scary movie, shit like that. They don't "steal" the "original" work...

They recreate it, with new actors, new sets, they spend money and then make fun of it - making it NEW original work.

Saturday night live, the onion, and so on all do this, and not one of the steals original work to do it.

We really don't have anything to debate.

No logical sense, but some sticking point. You gave some front about protecting your "talent" but it was still a ridiculous sticking point in my eyes.

I figured what the fuck. I can never agree with anyone 100% of the time.

But you also jump on this Traffic Junky bash bandwagon. I'm not going to draw this out any longer because I am at Oktoberfest and drunk. But I have to make one point...

Please, please, please stop going on some legal or moral high ground about anything. What you do is illegal. So give it a rest. Seriously, it's a tired act.

I think more than one person posts with the DirtyWhiteBoy nick........if not that is one hell of a split personality.

Fuck it, I'm stubborn then. I don't think a parody needs to be that detailed. If I'm wrong then I'm wrong.

I guess we are all pirates in your eyes.

heh pointing out irony on the internet is one of my favorite hobbies LOL

Fansubs are considered ? infringement, its as simple as reading:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fansub

we all love them, they are funny as shit, the internet wouldnt be the same without them, but movie studios see them as infringement :winkwink:

I just don't get it. Tons of funny and good posts. But the hypocrisy pisses me off. The joking or spoof excuse won't fly this time. That card has been played enough.

Details aside...

The Supreme Court of the United States stated that parody "is the use of some elements of a prior author's composition to create a new one that, at least in part, comments on that author's works."

Yep, WE are pirates, arrrrrr.... I just try to keep my double standards in check.

yah, i had to nab mine many times back then too eh. and i remember this very ad

the interesting thing is that Campari never filed suit against hustler for infringement or any copyright violations.

but falwell sued (and ultimately lost) for emotional distress or something silly.

the turn of topic reminded me of all this.

I myself had no idea it was copyright infringement until youtube told me otherwise... it seems you can get away with it, as long as nobody complains.
