You all got me thinking and since there is one more burst of them before fall really sets in. I definitely want to make a good cream of artichoke soup now.

I do love a good onion soup. However a good one takes some serious time. It will be on my list soon, just need to plan a day for it.

Also have noticed a strong relationship between webmasters and either cooking, or eating with slightly higher standards. Seems to be 4 types. The cook, the eats out, the food is fuel, and the I either am not picky or thinks the other 3 are stupid for talking about it here.

There are of course vegetarians, but I try to not bring up food related illnesses. I kid, but those topics turn into argument threads that are stupid.

Favorites that I make would be: Cream of Potato, Chicken Noodle and Escarole (Italian Wedding soup)
Favorites that I have yet to attempt: Seafood Bisque and New England Clam Chowder

That's smoked bacon on rye bread.
In the soup there's smoked sausage, its hard to translate as it is really Dutch and does not at all taste like the US hot dog sausage but much more flavoured; the cords are where they hang on wooden sticks above a special mixture of wood in the smoking cabine

By the looks of your rookworst and the descriptions I can find. It seems like it may be close to a kielbasa sausage.

Yeah, close, but the kielbasa sausage bases its strong taste mainly on garlic whilst this one on the smoking method.

I agree, webmasters actually have refined taste.
