I can really sympathize with that guy. I tell women I want to shoot them all the time, and they just run away screaming when they see the gun. It's hard to break into this industry.

There are tons of fakes out there good for you for asking him for references! More girls should ask more questions I have had girls fly across the country to shoot without asking me for references. Some of these girls are nuts for trusting us so easily. I always put links to my work and tell models that they can contact other models I currently work with when I contact them but they almost never check.

You are correct, same with girls bringing in their test but almost never ask to see the male talents test. And when you show them a test they see a real name and never ask for an ID to compare if it is the actual male talent.

oh, I ask for way more than references.. I go on GFY and ask all of my friends and people I trust like KB and Mark Schecter for the dirt on the people/companies I consider working with ;)
But ya know these days I already know everyone I want to work with in the future and those people I want to work with again.. I'm not getting excited over random strangers hitting me up offering me "big $" LOL.. I make the most $ when I stay at home on my webcam anyways!:)

I have worked with plenty of professional photographers and not one of them ever had a problem answering all of my questions and giving me references. Esp when being approached by someone I have never heard of before, who can't even tell me where he got my yahoo ID from, with a rinky dink website with crappy photography..

One thing I think people should learn from this thread, is that if you're going to approach someone established for a shoot, just provide references up front. If you can show that you've produced some good amateur content and have some reliable contacts that will vouch for you, it should be no problems hiring any porn whore you want to hire.

Why would YOU continue it? Good job Aaylah for not falling for crap. I worked with models for YEARS and never treated any of them like that. A good photographer is happy to give references, and if they are new, they say hey I'm new and I'm looking to work with some great models.
