You sure it wasn't plugged in?
Otherwise, I'm calling bullshit.
Would love to see what laptop pulled 8 hours of continued use, though.

I have the asus notebook and it is about 8 hours. I have 3 laptops and completely gave up on bringing my larger laptops when I am away. The asus does everything I need, fits into a purse, has the full keyboard with all the keys in the right place and has everything I need.

My laptop battery was recalled a long time ago. But I figure I'll use it anyway until it poops out on me and then I'll return it for the recall and get a brand new one.

They over heated or something, but my Toshiba can detect it early and shut the computer down. Sony and Mac couldn't do that (no idea if they can yet), so they did the recall.

For those of you in disbelief of 5+ hour times:

They are called 12 cell batteries and will also improve air circulation under the laptop.

Google it :upsidedow

HP got the Envy15 that seems to have long battery life time and Sony got the Z series that promise 7+ hours. So looking to see if anyone got any useful feedback in here

the sony vaio i bought last year gets 2 if im lucky. less if i am doing a lot of stuff on it. if i have an internet stick hooked up, it only gets 1. it really sucks.

Did I show you the laptop I bought when I was in Florida in August? Picked up an Acer Timeline for $550... Single core, but advertises 8 hour battery life.

I installed Linux which means I don't have a lot of the power saving features, and still get over 5 hours from it, even when watching movies and stuff.

I looked at the various options they had and spoke to their customer service to ask about a secondary battery option and they don't seem to have that at all :-(

I might have seen it, I think I saw you working on a laptop one day.

Right now I narrowed it down to the X200 or the T400, both Thinkpads.
The T400 supports 2 batteries at the same time giving 12+ hours battery time and plenty of juice :thumbsup

I have an HP laptop with a 12 cell battery that gets about 6-8 hours steadily. My Macbook pro does the same;-)
