BradM 11-18-2009 09:11 AM

As a happy client I can tell you this is beyond the deal of the year. To get into Natnet and pay only $99 with no setup? This is a wild deal. You WILL love their service.

Boss Traffic Jim 11-18-2009 09:40 AM

It's not a bad deal except for this 15 month contract thing. Thats way to much for anyone to commit to for anything especially for hosting.:2 cents::2 cents: heres a bump for you anyway.:)

Iron Fist 11-18-2009 09:49 AM

Q; What if my current hosting bill is $100,000 per month?

Fob 11-18-2009 09:51 AM

wow, what a good deal!

Once you have moved you won't be bothered about how long the contract is.

:winkwink:

Ross 11-18-2009 10:01 AM

One of the best decisions I took was to move to you guys during your last price match. The service from Nat Net is absolutely unparalleled with any other hosting company I've been with. Things take minutes, not hours. Bigger things take 20 mins not a day. Its the little things like that which ensure I won't host anywhere else.

For me the 3 months free is a complete bonus, you guys are well worth the money without the free time. Anyone who doesn't take advantage of this offer is off their head.

Again, not a problem. When we do these price match sales, we try to keep things simple :thumbsup

Thanks for the bump, but the agreement is really just our normal 12 month deal plus the 3 promo months (since for all intents and purposes they are free anyway). Very few customers actually go all 12 months before we renegotiate with them anyway....either they are adding new hardware or changing hardware or they want a cheaper price for higher bandwidth or any number of reasons. The agreement does nothing but make the lawyers and bankers happy anyway ;)

i'll be honest, after switching over i don't think i will EVER use another hosting company.

nationalet is fucking awesome!!!!!

Nice offer, and one worth considering. But a 15 month commitment for a company with whom I have no first hand experience is probably a dealbreaker for me.

Quite frankly, I think if you were so confident in your services, you would not need to lock people into long term commitments upfront. If it's so great, then the service alone would make people want to not bail for a competitor, you know?

That said, I do have a couple of questions. Are customers provided with ssh access to do their own script installs, compiles, adding php modules, or stuff like zend, if we need it? Can we employ our own server admin, such as webmin? Or do we have to file support tickets for every little thing versus having the ability to do it ourselves?

Thanks, and good kluck.

rowan 11-18-2009 11:33 PM

Got any hotswap capable chassis's (what IS the plural of that? :1orglaugh ) yet? I'd be a customer right now if it wasn't for that...

WebCompanyInc 11-19-2009 12:42 AM

I have long thought about giving NAT a try with a server or two and this deal comes just as I was thisclose to pulling the trigger and buying another server with another provider.

I have a few questions

I lease servers all over the place and colo with another company for my main mainstream biz

Will you price match the everyday price being offered by the provider I plan to signup for this week? Y no invoice generated as server not purchased but server specs cost bandwidth etc are public on providers website )

Price match hardware and bandwidth cost?

If so, I will give you guys a try and signup right away.

Do you guys have Dual quad core systems?

Thanks for your comments but if you've read this entire thread, you've seen people raving about us, and we have never lost a customer due to service. As Tony said on page one "the agreement is really just our normal 12 month deal plus the 3 promo months (since for all intents and purposes they are free anyway). Very few customers actually go all 12 months before we renegotiate with them anyway....either they are adding new hardware or changing hardware or they want a cheaper price for higher bandwidth or any number of reasons. I can add to that and state that in 12 years of running NationalNet, we have never enforced a contract.

We do offer ssh access for those customers that want it, and we also offer dedicated servers with Cpanel, however for our fully managed servers, while we will allow a customer to have regular user ssh access, we do not offer any panels with the fully-managed servers. Once a customer sees how fast we are, the lack of a panel becomes a non-issue

Thanks. Just to clarify here. If we migrate a smaller 5 server network, am I correct with the following statements:
  • You will duplicate our existing network, including the hardware, for the same price as our existing company.
  • We can do a custom compile on the servers, as some of our requirements are pretty specific and require specific settings, modules, etc. Or you will perform these for us?
  • We, or you, can install webmin for simple tasks such as database creation?
  • We can have ssh access.
  • You will provide all of this for $33/month for the first 3 months and then match our existing pricing for the remaining 12 months.
Would the above-mentioned items be entirely accurate?

Yes, simply provide us with a copy of your most recent invoice.

I'm not sure what you mean by a "custom compile" and could not answer this question without knowing more about what you're talking about. If you would like to email me particulars at sales AT nationalnet DOT com, we can discuss.

We can install phpmyadmin but we do not install any server level control panels on fully-managed servers (such as webmin/Cpanel/etc)

Yes

We do offer dual quad servers (we build all of our servers in-house in our hardware integration department) but the price match does require that you have an invoice from an existing host. However, if you would like to email me at sales AT nationalnet DOT com with particulars about what you're referring to, I will be more than happy to take a look at it and see what we can do.

Just to expand on what Bill was saying, the reason that we require an invoice in order for it to fall under the official Price Match sale is because we know there are plenty of low end hosts out there that are SUPER cheap but that you would NEVER realistically trust them enough to host your servers. By providing us with an invoice it shows us that this hosting company is (or was at one time) at least a good enough host to get you to set up service with them. This helps us to weed out all of the hosts that we all know are fly by night type operations.

Now, as Bill eluded to....for this two weeks only nothing is out of the question. Send the deal into Sales and let the guys look at it....you never know, we may surprise you. Also you mentioned that you lease servers all over the place...take your lowest price invoice and send it to us and we will match it.

We just want to earn your business!!

Hi

Even though we have received a ton of emails about this (THANKS ALL!!!) we have replied to every email that has come to us...but we have one person that has emailed us but when we reply, the email is bouncing. If you have a qwest.net email address, this might be you. If that's the case, please either email us again with a different email address or give us a call at 888-4-NATNET (or 678-247-7000 international)

If this is not you, then please resend to sales AT nationalnet DOT com and let me know in this thread when you have and I'll personally watch for it.
