I am beginning to wonder if those nut-ball town hall screamers might actually be right about this government.

Are you stupid? OK first of all NONE of things are laws. And the TV issue is a STATE thing and the others you mention are on FEDERAL level. So you're all over the place. Please try to be consistant with your rants.

Please show me where it is a law or even proposed law where you have to buy health insutrance or go to jail. Please show me where it's a law you can't buy a big screen TV. Please show me the law where porn is restricted on the internet. LINKS or you are gay.

I just love how ignorant people think because some ONE person PROPOSES a law that it sudden turns into "A law was passed". It's amazing how few people know how the process of passing law gets done. At least 95% of ideas that get PROPOSED get killed off in commitee most of those that do get past committee don't get passed either.

hehe thought the same when goverment said there won't be normal bulbs available in 2009, now it's impossible to get any in german shops :). It's not forbidden to have any but you can't sell/buy them anymore, only these slightly shining energy saving bulbs, which need 20min until they are really a little bit bright. Sad but real, I don't know if it's allowed to import them so I can't say anything about that. In that way I could imagine this proposed law.

Here's a clue, Germany is NOT the USA. And if it take 20 minutes for your bulbs to get bright then they suck. I have no issues with the one I use and I appreciate the saving son my electrical bill every month. Even the ones outside are totally bright even in the winter ( where it's typically in the 20s at night where I live )within 5 minutes. Maybe you Germans suck making lightbulbs. I know you guys were used to making things out of dead jews and you can't do that anymore so perhaps that's the problem.

I don't use CFLs because some law told me too or because I feel I'm "saving the planet" I do it because I save money. Over the lifetime of the bulbs they'll save me over $500. I have better things to do with that $500 than to give it to the electric company. Perhaps you don't.

Next generation of Panasonic plasmas will have 3D... but I think it'll be so new and so limited it won't be worth waiting for. Also doesn't sound fun to watch TV with 3D glasses on...
