Yeah, old thread. Fast forward 2 years and we are very much on talking terms. I'm actually shooting her in December. ...Happy Labor Day and stuff, people. :thumbsup

Its funny how e-mail works fine when they need something, but seems to have an error when they are trying to avoid you.

Oh and the CSB from Rochard is awesome.

Why surfers would want to date a model is beyond me... is drama and no brains all wrapped up into one, and that is dangerous. I've seen too many YouTube vids of some of the industry models talking.. it's just comical. If I ever got to be on set ever, i'd probably get kicked out for laughing my ass off the entire time.

Girls come into this industry to make easy money. In general few of them want to work hard and all of them want to earn money right away.

Shoot her for a site, get model releases and IDs. Then put up the site and give her 20% to run it, blog, network on social forums etc.

She works for you, you don't work for her or with her.

Rochard's story of Tawnee is typical, if she had any brains or back bone she would of walked out and gone to another program. Or started her own site.

picks or she never existed

It is not worth the hassle. Better invest your time to read One Piece.

She's Gone Oh I, Oh I'd
better learn how to face it
She's Gone Oh I, Oh I'd
pay the devil to replace her
She's Gone - what went wrong

The best one was Tawnee Stone. She was the highest paid model, and she came in to renegotiate her yearly contract. We all walked into the meeting and she opened by saying "I'm your most popular model so I want my yearly salary doubled". Steve just looked at her and said "We've decided to let you go. We opened a multi-girl site, and both traffic and income for your site is down by 80%". I swear you could physically see the color drain from her face.

Eventually she took a fifty percent pay cut and had to shoot twice as much.

hahahaha

i couldn't do that but smart and funny nonetheless.

She was so distracted over the situation she eventually crashed her car. :winkwink:

it really is a fucking nightmare. unreal how much time and money was wasted on someone so unworthy. thinking of selling everything - it was that heinous.

I have wasted so much time trying to talk to girls that wanted their own sites and to partner... once they resceduled one time I decided they were not dedicated and dropped the whole idea, if I build more solo sites, I will just pay the girl per day, and own everything. and stay away from girls who think they are "porn stars" they usually are super stuck up and think they know everything! I had a few solo site projects I started on, just to have the girl change her mind and put everything to a stop....

Awesome. :thumbsup

Bet that didn't turn out the way she thought it would. You know she built up the courage to ask for a double pay raise for at least a week or two. Then struck down within a second. Just awesome.

so? the problem hasn't exactly gone away in the last two years, and if anything it's worse than ever.. I know webmasters who've been in this business for ten years who walked away a month ago based only on the hassles with the models..

the bottom line is, many of them are unprofessional and longing for stardom and think that a a few thousand fans = time to turn diva bitch from insecure humble sweet girl next door. It's creepy how quickly someone can go from being all into it to showing their true colors - so for those few webmasters lucky enough to have partnered with or worked with women who have actually had corporate jobs, understand the investement being made into them based on their word and their look - and take is seriously, are lucky. Most of us are stuck dealing with ungrateful dishonorable dishonest tantrum throwing immature brats. Sorry but - that's my take on it - though I've only really worked with a few models, those experiences have inspired me to turn down all the new models approaching to work together. Not sure it the age of the thread requires that we let it die.. if the problems are still an issue. Solo model sites under a HUB domain that is what we brand MIGHT work, so if the girl leaves you haven't invested years into branding the domain that is on it's way out..

just a thought.
or two.

Don't try to start off a solo girl site by 'helping a girl out' - only taking 20% and teaching her how to do shit...

If she's going to do a solo girl site she's likely an idiot and is going to need 90% if not 99% of the work done.

Treat her as a model and leave it at that. If your site ever gets released, and if it ever makes any money, after that miracle, especially in this day and age, then consider letting her take on promotional responsibilities or VERYYYYYYYYY unlikely but possible site maintainence responsibilities if she's actually willing to learn.

You, or an experienced partner, needs to make the site work first, and I'd wish you a lot of luck just trying to get that to happen, don't get ahead of yourself like your site is actually going to make any money, or even get off the ground, and that you can start handing off responsibility to the model :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

This girl sounds like an idiot... and is already giving you bullshit excuses.... even if you had a top notch, extremely responsible model, you'd have to be pretty careful with the site responsibilities you gave her, let alone an idiot flake like this

You have to admire the few girls/models here that work on their own sites... good for them... but I also bet in a lot of cases they face a lot of problems as well

Totally correct

Nikki_Licks 01-11-2012 08:11 AM

If she is having problems showing up for simple meetings and always postponing, I would let the "so called other offers" help her out.

Sounds like a headache waiting to explode....walk away. :2 cents:

That's exactly what MyPhoneSite have developed. Their website generator allows models to easily create their own semi-autonomous website, which can be then used for Pay-Per-Minute Phone/Webchats, Pay per email/SMS interaction and an e-store which can be used to sell digital and tangible goods.

They get 70% on the dollar, and if you sign up here, you will be paid 10% of their gross, for life. If they in turn refer others, you will be paid 5% second tier.

Outpaypents to the models are on-demand, and since MPS offers support, this means that you don't have to.:pimp
