paying at least 100k a month in hosting, plus those revenues arent actual sales, would like to see actual paysite sales, not ad space sales
|
Here is just a little food for thought.
These numbers for pornhub are taken from the trafficjunky user/admin section where you buy ads on the site. They tell you how many impressions are available and what the average cpm is. You do the math and you get those numbers. That doesn't mean they are actually selling all of that advertising. If you see the site (and I admit I don't go there much, but the few times I have it seems accurate) they seem to have the same ads up all the time. This would lead a person to believe one of two things. Either these ads convert so well the same buyer is spending tens of thousands a week on advertising. Or they aren't selling all that space and these are just the filler ads. There is no way to know for sure how full those ad spots are and if the rest is filler there is no way of knowing how much they are making off if it. There is no doubt they have a lot of money coming in, but I would venture to guess it is probably less than some of us think. |
even if their bandwidth bills are insaine, and the site eventually gets shut down, with those kind of sales I'm sure rebills are a huge part of their overall profit

getting the number one search traffic for "porn" earns a premium I'm sure that is way above usual se traffic ratios :2 cents:

Mass Traffic with Free Porn = Top Dollar Ad Space For Sale = Cheap Bandwidth = Profit + Attention = More profit.

So yeah, I suppose they could ASK for that much. Don't know if there would be much real ROI for a paysite to advertise there though. And not sure how long a dating or cam site could see ROI off it either. Seems like after a month or so everybody that's gonna get a free membership at a dating or cam site would have done so already. |

stats are impressive.
as they control more and more of the adult traffic they will also have leverage over advertisers. just think wallmart of online porn... |
People don't realize the massive scope of Brazzers operation. IMO, they're currently the largest adult company in the world. Bigger than Playboy and bigger than Hustler.

I don't know how any of the processors work. I'm assumeing CCBill/Epoch take a small % of whatever sales you make? Maybe 1-2%? If you consider how many porn companies there are who own such 0.xxx% of the market and pay 2-3% on all the sales they make. Those processors rake in a shitload as they don't have any bandwidth bills or models to pay.
Someone educate me, how do processors make their money? |
wonder what the conversion rates are for the traffic, can't be better than 1:1000s

But the good news is that there is mounting competitive pressure on processors to get their rates more in tune to 2009 than the 1999 rates they still charge. |

Honestly, I don't see anyone advertising on there that isn't somehow involved in Mansef. So, there numbers mean nothing. PornHub is all about slinging the premium membership and not about ad revenue. I know a few people that have bought ads and didn't renew. Nothing to see here. :2 cents: |

Not saying there isn't a way to make it work but as it stands now its a failing biz model. Only a matter of time. |
Are these actual sales or simply their posted CPM rates multiplied by their inventory?

0.42$ CPM on a tube site? That's pretty impressive!

of course if it's real |
no money in porn

those numbers are BS, everyone who has experience managing an inventory of lets say 10-20mio impressions/day on premium countries traffic will agree that those ctr and cpms are too good to be true.

good thread!
