ouch 11 pages and still going. Even the IBill thread is getting burried compared to this.

Shoehorn! 12-04-2009 11:49 PM

Another question for you Dirty D, if you think that PPC is such a shady marketing technique, why do you think it is that several programs have posted here telling me to contact them about getting a PPC campaign going for one or more of their sites?

And I know he is hurting for sales. How do I know? Because he picked my sales out, looked where they were coming from, decided he didn't like PPC campaigns for whatever reason, and stopped paying me. Any affiliate program doing a substantial amount of sales a day wouldn't be watching ever little sale to see where they could rip off an affiliate. And if they found an affiliate doing something they didn't like, they would contact them and tell them to stop, not make up some bullshit about violating their TOS, when its been proven that there was no TOS regarding PPC traffic to begin with.

Yeah it don't look good. That is the first thing any affil thinks. BTW, class act providing sponsors.

It's not fully my place but in view of 14 pages now, would it be out of line if I asked someone (Dirty D) to shoot me some confidence as I wrote some good promos for HIGR and I don't like ever changing shit. :)

Shoot me some love and say, yes the prog is running fiiine.

There are lots of things that are not stated in ours.
Should it be a roadmap to include all forms of cheating that are not allowed?

We don't say anything about carders... they don't get paid either.
There is also nothing about cookie stuffing... they don't get paid.
How about adware... nope
Are there other forms of fraud to list that will cause you not to get paid, yep.

Shoehorn posted a great example from Blockbuster to show that HE KNOWS affiliate programs don't need (or allow) affiliates to bid on their established brand and domain.

fucking moron.... carders, cookie stuffing, and adware = google ppc to you? google ppc you think is fraud ???

What other stuff you have in your "make the TOS as we go" rules? Curious what shit you will come up with tomorrow to not pay people.

Notice none of the "Bros" have come to Dirty D's (Dumb shit Douche Bag) defense? That should say something.

Wow, you are thickheaded.. Please go take a PPC class before you embarrass yourself further..

PROFESSIONAL COMPANIES UNDERSTAND PPC AND IF THEY DON'T WANT PEOPLE BIDDING ON CERTAIN TERMS, THEY WILL PUT IT IN THEIR TOS!

Do you not grasp that?

If you don't want your affiliates doing something, put it in your TOS.

Are you trying to make a point or are you just this DUMB?

If your TOS stated: YOU CAN NOT BID ON THESE TERMS there would be no issue here and everyone would be on your side...

Since you seem to want to use what other companies state in their TOS, some companies don't allow PPC marketing in their affiliate programs PERIOD.

So, are you going to stop payment on all your PPC affiliates because another company has this in their TOS?

Probably lots of affiliates getting paid fine, this is one case that just stands out as showing that the program has no problem making up the rules as they go.

I had to go through this shit with CommissionJunction in the spring. Suddenly they decided that my links were receiving a tiny amount of traffic from somewhere on myspace, and we're talking like under %.1. They reversed about $3k in payments on me that I was hanging a big loss on.

I emailed back and forth forever, and they made it perfectly clear they weren't paying me. Then asked me to keep sending traffic to their merchant. LIKE FUCK I'D SEND THEM ANY MORE TRAFFIC. I requested that they terminate my account.

Mysteriously a few weeks afterwards a check shows up from CJ. WTF?

I still ain't ever promoting CommissionJunction ever again. It burns because I occasionally see something CJ exclusive I really want to promote. Yet that fucking burn still keeps me far fucking away. You really think he cares to come back for another burning after you just lit him up once already?

This making up the rules as you go shit has got to be kept in check. Just because you're the one writing the check doesn't instantly give you the right to start fucking people "just cuz", when they've done nothing in the wrong...

The right thing to do is to pay the man for his work, rewrite the ToS, and put it behind you. No one is arguing that you can't put these rules out there if you want to. But if you didn't specifically state that this was against ToS, then nothing illegal has taken place, and the sales sent were 100% legit and qualified.

It's the way you've handled it that really leaves a bad taste with people... :2 cents:

Fuck, I even got paid in the end and I still am bitter and turned off of their program!

goldfish 12-05-2009 12:11 AM

Still has paid?!?!?! Freakin amazing!

Vjo 12-05-2009 12:11 AM

I hope someday to be an esteemed member of this "peanut gallery" i hear so much about.

I guess if being an affil like most of these guys, makes me a member, it's good to be a member.

I'll prob always chime in when I see the "backbone of the adult biz" the affil, large and small, grinding out sales fairly and not getting paid properly.

Thankfully I dont have to sit in the gallery too often. :)

From a site that doesn't allow PPC with their site names as keywords...

"The search terms "*****", "*******" are not to be used for generating traffic through PPC programs like Google AdWords or Yahoo. We may allow some PPC sites, please email us to be sure."

Two whole sentences and you wouldn't have been obligated to pay. But your missing those two, you owe him $477+!

Once a thief always a thief.

If he steals from me its important that other affiliates don't make the same mistake of promoting him, because he will eventually pull the same shit on them.

If Dirty D comes out with a big new promo after all this, says "haha Shoehorn gets paid, publicity stunt, here's our 3 new sites" It will not be funny.

BTW I have 997 signups with HIGR this year and damn near got my 1000 and a million dollars.

I used a little ppc tho. Hope that won't be a prob. :)

Epic Thread... carry on.

FatBastard 12-05-2009 12:50 AM

Bump for the not paying thread

Robbie 12-05-2009 12:53 AM

What does Dirty D have to gain at this point from paying Johnny Shoehorn? We have all seen this before. Dirty D. says: "Ok, I'll pay you"
And then it doesn't go away at all. Instead all these bloodthirsty nicknames STILL try to ruin his business. I can already envision the threads: "Oh, so now that Dirty D paid him all is forgiven? NO! He's still blah-blah-blah"

I think this has gone too far. Totally. And now I'm looking forward to Johnny coming to Internext and wearing one of those shirts and confronting Dirty D. I am also curious if Will is going to be there to see what happens as well. Should be interesting. I always wondered what would happen if somebody came face to face with someone else after the things that have been said on here.

I'm looking forward to it.

For the record, I like both guys. I've known Dirty D for many years...since BEFORE he had an affiliate program. I think he may have gotten pissed about the adword on his domain name. And instead of contacting Shoehorn and shitcanning him officially he went about it wrong.

And I think turning this into an attack on Dirty D's business is wrong too. Not that it matters because quite frankly no serious people give a shit about threads like this.

I was just amazed earlier on when people were going on and on about "marketing". It was buying a google ad word folks. That is NOT marketing.

I didn't say that Dirty D should or shouldn't have paid Shoehorn. I was addressing the morons who think they know this business.

By the way...reading the conversation...I can tell you why Dirty D keeps using the word "type-ins" Anybody that uses NATS can tell you that. ANY sale you get that is NOT an affiliate sale shows as a "type-in"

He's just saying what he sees the sale as. I see them that way too when I look at my numbers. Of course he understands the sale came from Google. Just sayin'....if you guys are gonna gang up and try to nail him to the cross, at least do it the right way.

I hope you guys get it worked out. But if not...it'll be entertaining as hell to see what happens if Shoehorn shows up at Internext.

JFK, get the cameras ready.

Good points, yeah I think Dirty D is standing on principal. That prog has to have a pretty good payout every month and I have never heard word one about Dirty D not paying ever.

Hell Dirty D, I even liked you're Friday flier. It had motivation and fire in it. What I like to see in a sponsor.
Seriously. Great flier. Fired me up to cont working 7 days a week as I always do.

Hey it is his prog. I am sure he pays. Some guys feel strong about PPC and their paysite names. He is one of them.

But (been said a thousand times) should of been in the tos.

If he doesn't know the difference between a typein and someone searching for his site in Google then he is an even bigger idiot than everyone previously thought.

I'll be at Internext in Miami like always. Also be at Phoenix Forum. And Dirty D won't do shit at either, hes in enough trouble with the law.

And I am sure as hell not going to physically attack him like an idiot and get arrested. I will tell him to his face what a scumbag he is though, as well as let as many other people as I can know.
