Every time I go to a good bar. I love to hear the chiching of the register.
Of course it was not a waste. I have done just about everything I have ever wanted to do. Then again I have no issues closing up this piece of shit and doing something else. Yes I did say piece of shit, as it is nothing more than another tool. It is not my job, not my life, and nothing more than the interface I use to complete the work I desire.
I unlike many though have kept it all very much in perspective. Not everyone will earn millions and be set, hell very few ever will even if they work 100 hour weeks until retirement age. At the same time there is nothing at all wrong with working for another company or as some say the man. That at very least provides you with security and if done properly a way to support your ass when you are too damn old to work. Not everyone is able to be their own bosses even though more people think they are than really are. Ask around and see how many have planned for their futures. Look at some threads from the past around here about savings rates. Seems the vast majority of those who work for themselves have zero plans set for retirement. In essence they have wasted their lives to date just acquiring stuff with next to nothing to show for it when it comes to the long haul. Pretty sure most are either satisfied with what they have today, blind about the future, others still have dreams of millions earned soon once their big idea takes off, and then a select few who did plan ahead like a good boss to make sure their employee would be well taken care of. |

There is life beyond the computer?? Show me, please, I want...to see!
Now and then but then I figure that pretty much any alternative job I would have would also have me sat behind a computer for most of my day. So, I would rather do that from home and in a more flexible environment.
Though, I am recently seeing the importance of taken on hobbies that get me out from behind it. That is why I am going to be dipping my toe into studying photography soon. |
played 1,5 years WoW in my spare time, was definitely wasted. :Oh crap I bet Iam not the online who regrets.

No, not since im making money doing this. Lots of people spend a lot of time behind the screen and all that time amounts to nothing productive at all.
nope, never. i love working online
Absolutely. Look for a change in 2010. I'm sick of the internet.
Yes of course. It's perfectly natural to feel that way sometimes.
Yes i do feel like that sometimes, that is why i make an effort to go out. it is very easy to get cabin fever and feel detached from society.
sometimes i hate the internet and computers in general but then when i am away from one for even a couple days i feel totally lost. it is important as stated above in this thread to keep things like hobbies or working out at least some sort of break your mind can have from the grind of working on computers. i have worked at home for 5 years now and i couldnt ever imagine doing a 9-5. |
not for one second

I feel bad for the people that waste their life in a cubicle!
I've done more in my short life than I can believe. If you think you've wasted your life then you probably have, me I've done everything I wanted and have no regrets. Hell I'm going to ireland in a few days just for the fuck of it, never been figured why not. |
