another oldie: do you remember Mads? He was the original owner of Worldsex, he "img src'd" every fucking trade to grow when nobody knew about img src, grew Worldsex to a mega site, sold it and supposedly retired to be a Congressman in Holland. Anyone knows what happened with that?

Very few people we doing adult BBS's especially compared to what the Internet is now.

Even fewer were shooting their own content as I was. Most of them were stealing their content from McHenry and such.

Did anyone make good money from running these bbs things?

I always see posts about people saying they ran them but I only ever saw ads for them in the back of some magazines when I was a kid

Being a porn affill has its "seasons" for sponsors. They all seem, at the time, like they will go on forever.. :)

And the Worldsex thing rings a bell.. a very faint bell..

The secret was to work in the 90's (anything worked!) and read the boards in the early 2000's even up to now as lots of good stuff on boards. BUT, in those days we all were (seeking the answer on boards) which was traffic.

A simple link list tended in those days like PK, a couple trades, and you were In Like Flynt.

But the boards were facinating in those days. :)

But Kudos Harvey you are old school for sure. :thumbsup

Sorry to hear about Intergal. As everyone knows they were very good to me.

Depends on what you consider "good money." I was making low 6 figures at 19.

CashGordon 12-26-2009 06:48 PM

I have started by 1996 with adult check sites and than IBill. I was like their 200th customer or so, RIP. It all started with a supermodel and hentai site.

I just hope someone with the name "Enforcer" in their handle doesn't confront me some day. "Say aren't you.. Karla.. AOL chatroom.. "girls looking 4 guys".. December 12, 1995?"

"Why yes *Enforcer. How you doing. Was just training for them lucrative tranny sites coming someday."

LOL

We came up with the first auto-submitter for TGP's, then MGP's, had two AVS's I recall (one for static pics, one for vids), then we did the ContentLotto thing.

After six years I called it quits and ended up with goodgirl as a partner.

I remember content lotto, gave us some great traffic back then

Mid 1990's. Gave many programs their first real links and traffic on ampland.com
Always been an affiliate first and foremost and still am.

Jim_Gunn 12-26-2009 09:24 PM

I am old, old school porn. I started in New Jersey in 1991, the VHS days, right out of college working for what is now the biggest off-line porn distributorship in the country. Directed my first movies including the hit series "Strap-On Sally" in '93. I used to work in the office all week and shoot two movies once a month mostly in the NY & NJ area, and sometimes in LA. And then I started traveling all over the East Coast and Canada filming pro-am porn like the "East Coast Sluts" and "Canadian Beaver Hunt" series in the mid to late 90's. I became in independent producer in 1998, and started filming some more DVD series soon thereafter. By the time I joined GFY in 2002, I got more into filming custom & exclusive content for several of the top programs in adult internet, which I continue to do to this day.

Peaches 12-26-2009 09:32 PM

I think Ed Kinsley (sp) and Carolyn....crap, I'm getting old and can't remember her name - were the first people I worked with on Internet Porn who had an actual website. Back in 94 maybe? Possibly 95. Jack Lawless and Ron Levi were around then too.

I don't care what anyone says, that was the best tool going. I wish I still had it.

Started sometime in late 1999...boy have things changed. I used to submit galleries 10 hours per week and made so much fucking money that I didn't know how to spend it

Click Thru Calvin lol

HerPimp 12-26-2009 11:38 PM

Guy I met in the game Ultima Online introduced it to me in early 98. Didn't get serious till 2000 and my main sponsor was ARS.

lol for sure. Someone should come up with a clunky old school software like that, call it campy cash or something, no matter what it payed per unique it would be fun.

I can't quite remember how that looked but I know it was really basic and slow and I think kind of a green. Only a couple progs used it. That must of been developed in 1996 or so.

NaughtyRob 12-26-2009 11:52 PM

I am semi-old school. Used to help girls get setup on ifriends and charge them a webmaster fee monthly for it. Also made sites on the AVS's back in 1999 - 2000.

Vjo 12-26-2009 11:52 PM

Amateur Pages.. did someone mention them. I think that was them. Or was that Lensmen prog? hehe it is all slowly slipping away. :) Anyhow, they may have used ctc at the beginning then changed.

You put their pics on your site and got paid per unique. They went on a long time. A bit into the 2000's. Prob died in 2001 as did a lot of stuff.

Actually I think Amateur Pages was Lensmens. This was another similiar program or such. Pixotna or something real rare like that. There were a few of those click thru pic progs that used ctc.

wdsguy 12-27-2009 12:01 AM

I got into the adult side of things in 96-97 pushing per click programs like intergral? and xpics. Later it was with click thru calvin? Before that I was pushing casino programs. it was easy money back in the days.

Cash 12-27-2009 12:13 AM

What is old school? Just veteran?

digitaldivas 12-27-2009 12:22 AM

1998, my first site was fivelittlepiggy.com, which is now beautifulfeetonline.com, or at least my archive content is. I also ran a TGP in 1999 pornfuck.com, and about 4 others. Digialdivasonline.com and that network was born from the carcasses of those sites. Made a fair amount of money with adultcheck too. I hosted fetish parties in denver and los angeles from 1999-2005 till I got shut down :(

In 1996 I started my first company, Internet Unlimited ... selling adult websites ... which were video conference sites offering downloadable software surfers could use and talk to "cam models' point to point on 14.4 modems. The company i got the software from originally was Virtual Dreams ... then ITN which later became iGallery. I was selling the websites for $3500-$7500 each (getting them built for $350) - receiving $2 per minute and paying $1 per minute to the site owners.

In 1998 I bought pstars.com for $1200 ... just found it using the wayback machine http://web.archive.org/web/199812031...om/index2.html I was only getting about 3500 visitors per day and making 3500-5K+ per month easy. LOL

Pretty decent little link site for 1998.

This gives me an idea. I should just go back to an archived site for a lot of my domains and just throw it out there. Google might like me. I return to my orig design circa 1998-1999.

LOL

Can you imagine the surfers today. Just change the banners (which is all mine were) to modern sponsors.
WTF is this they're thinking. :)

Actually I am going to bring back a couple like that.
WTF why not.

I'll show everyone it is still possible to be successful selling to Joe Surfer with HTML 1.0 skills. :)

Fuck word press! lol

plsureking 12-27-2009 01:23 AM

lots of oldskool hustlers here. fun to read :thumbsup

i was late to porn - 2001 - because i went into dotcoms after college.

not sure whether i would have made more in porn back then lol
