I really doubt that anyone has accepted the offer for 800 bucks, especially for a hard core scene. Even if you are hard up, it would not make any sense to shoot for that price as you won't make any money.....:2 cents:

I shoot for an existing client that I have been shooting for for 6 yrs... and its boy/girl. Budget is $800-$1,000 and I get all the girls I want and turn a profit. Certain situations you can go cheaper, certain you cant. If a client can use brand new amateur girls, some of those girls will shoot for $300-$400 and love the cash.

If you can pay a girl $300-$400 and a male talent $100-$200, no agency fee that makes the cost $400-$600 total. So $200-$400 in my pocket, why would I turn that down.

At the same point look at the crack ridden, stretch mark street hookers you get for that price, dont forget that part.. I lived there I know.

Figuring on the base of 600-800 a scene, according to what was posted by the thread starter, you would only make 200 dollars by your figures....depending on how it all works out.

To be honest, I figure more into the shoot besides the cost of male and female talent, but that is just me and I am sure you do too.
All of my time vested into a shoot is worth more than 200 bucks...

there are many other expenses, location obviously, but also just misc expenses, cameras, dv tapes, wardrobe, insurance, taxes etc.
not to mention the time it takes to post production a shoot and the cost of shipping etc.
if you make 200 on the shoot, i really dont think you make much but hey if you feel it is worthwhile please carry on, no disrespect here..

GN More power to you :thumbsup, but I could never make that work. That $200 "profit" would go towards electricity, gear, assistants, repairs, lunch, rent, props, paint, sheets, and so on and so on. Not to mention that if I am getting girls for $300 then I am going to have to spend a lot of time looking for them as well. And time is money. (GM you definitely have a lot of success at this as I have seen) For me I would rather pay the agent fees and spend more time behind the camera than in front of the PC. :2 cents:

Personally I would not shoot anything for less than a couple grand but my overhead is higher than most I guess :)

you get what you pay for. I have clients with 3K budgets for BG and they also get what they pay for. And I know you like to rag on Vegas lately but it is where you have been doing the exact same thing GN is talking about for a long long time, so now that you are in LALA land it makes you a better shooter? come on dude. I bet you any money that you "found" more no names that now have somewhat of a name when you were here then you do now. You shoot the same old chick that everyone else is shooting and if there is a new chick that pops up then within a week you and everyone else has fucked her and within a month she is on every site that matches her niche. Nothing new dude.. no need to rag on anyone.

I personally think it sucks to have to shoot with budgets like this but if GN can pick up dollars then more power to him. btw this has nothing to do with the NBD shooters as we all shoot for our own clients and we simply make each other stronger with our resources and we can shoot tons of scenes for those clients with the demand of high numbers, we can spread it out and deliver a ton in a short time.

Nope sorry I dont shoot those girls. HOT girls are shooting cheap here now. You can have your LA girls that everyone else has. And as Sebastian stated, I have my own clients. Some I have been shooting for them for 5-6 yrs. This has nothing to do with the other shooters in our group. Some clients have big budgets and need certain locations, pickup scenes etc, some don't care if I shoot in the same bed for 100 scenes. You do your thing, I'll do mine. We all gotta make a buck.
