Definitely hold out for more than 250k. If camgirls.com went for 350k, then I think nasty.com is worth more. However, the guy who bought camgirls.com is clueless and way overpaid for it, so maybe that's not a fair comparison.

I think camgirls.com is worth $350k, but only for the right buyer. If you have no idea how to run a business and nothing left in your piggy bank after the purchase it's totally not worth it.

I agree with LazyCash, it's worth more than $250k. It's a good buy and I also want to say as a few others have- consult a broker and hold out for more. I guess it depends on your situation and when you need cash in your pocket. If you can afford it I would say hold out. I'm surprised with a solid low BIN no one has made a serious offer yet, but maybe word just hasn't hit the right ears.

Keep in mind the state of the industry...I don't think there's as many big players with the money flowing around to drop a quarter mil on a domain. He'll probably get it eventually though - we'll see.

There are companies and individuals that will finance domains and sometimes the owners also do self-financing. Also not everyone are hurting - I know several that are quietly expanding their business or simply transforming it to the new decade :winkwink:

I agree..you only have to look at the last 20 new site launches mentioned on gfy and you will see most of them are not using top premium domains but more average to good ones.

I also agree a name might be worth 250k + but to get someone to drop serious cash in this current climate is not so easy.

Funny, I just tried to remember the last 20 new sites/domains, and the ones that popped into my mind all had good names - I must have forgotten the rest, and somehow I don´t think average surfers have better memory :2 cents:

People generally only remember a handful of sites - no matter if its news, sports, communities, or adult sites. Companies/People investing in content, design, programming, marketing, but not in a good domain are leaving money on the table (and a good domain actual retain most of its value or even increases it over time, while the other things going into a site loose their value over time).

Im not sure if you did or didnt miss my point......Yes the ones you remember are the ones with short easy to remember and spell quality premium domains ,it has nothing to do with my comment that of the last 20 or so sites launched most contained average to medium domains....


What Im saying is that a lot of companies are now using average domains when they should be investing in premium domains as you mentioned and for the reasons you laid out....:thumbsup

When pricing a domain, then it all comes down to what the new owner can do with the domain. Thats why different people see different value in the same domain, because each one of us have a different plan what to do with the domain.
