I know you live near my birthplace of Seattle now (even though I mostly grew up in Hawaii).

Texas showed some signs of offensive life in their first drive of the second half (even though it has been announced that Colt McCoy will NOT be back), but Alabama stepped up their defense and now have the ball again...

Born in Birmingham.. raised in parts of Alabama, Georgia, Texas, and then the Seattle area. My dad was career military. Both my parents went to U of Alabama B'ham.

The Longhorns definitely made it an interesting second half. Alabama must have been too confident coming out of halftime. Great bunch of stories will come out of this game. The senior QB getting hurt, the freshman QB stepping in and finding his rhythm in the second half, and the winning team also having the year's Heisman Trophy winner (you think Ingram will go for the NFL or stick around and try to be only the second player in history to win the Heisman twice?)

fml why i didnt listen to my instincts! o well go bama texas played a hell of a game till the end without their starting qb. hope some people made some easy money... was this a boneprone lock cause it should have been.

bama saved my progressive parlay.

got boned on the oregon game for one game of 7, picked 6 right thanks to bama.

wheew, i was scared for a minute watching that momentum that texas had before CM got hurt.

SRT8 01-07-2010 10:38 PM

it could of been a lot closer than it was after ht texas had the momentum going their way gilbert made some nice throws and was on a roll till the defense stepped up finally and got some turnovers in the 4th qtr.

Okay, so Texas mounted a respectable charge in the second half, but the Bama defense finally overwhelmed Texas, so the Crimson Tide rolled on to an impressive 37-21 victory...and will be recognized as the National Champions.

I do believe that Ingram will be back for at least one more of his two years of college eligibility (although many NFL teams would be happy to snap him up should he come out early).

Too bad for Colt McCoy, he deserved a chance to show everyone his stuff in his biggest game ever, but an early injury ended any chance of that (I expect we will see more of him on Sunday's to come).

And what about Grey McElroy...he has never lost a game as Quarterback, either in his High School or College career. Very impressive!!!

Congratz to Bama... :thumbsup

It was an okay game To bad of the injury to McCoy for Texas they probably had a good shot of making it close. They also made some dumb coaching decisions........should have run the clock out before halftime with a freshmen QB playing.

they would have won had he not gone down. i would have lost my bet, but hey would have won, there is a very very good chance of that. that poor backup QB did damn good for being so green. you could really see the rookie in him though. reading his body language was just so telling. and that hit that kid took on that fumble, he never saw him coming. snapped his neck straight back. that experience was invaluable to him though, and i am really impressed with what he did even though he had like 490 interceptions and a fumble. he'll be a very good qb in a few years.

just got back from the game, all bets are off when your starting QB goes down in the first drive, grats bama you are VERY fortunate that Colt got injured. It handed you a national championship, I now know how sooner fans felt this past October.

Oh well our true freshman QB threw for 2 td's in the national title game and showed signs of hope for the longhorn nation, we'll be back........

stever 01-08-2010 09:17 AM

to all you cry babies who thought bama only won because the longhorns QB went down

HAHA

im counting my paper this morning

and btw...TIDE still wins by double digits if colt plays
