I thought I'd check my settings and post some that seem relevant.

Under Options, Privacy tab I have checked the following under Spam Control:

Ask me before accepting messages from people I dont know.
Enable ICQ Anti-spam to filter-out spam messages.


I'm not limited to accepting only messages from people on my list, but under Notifications I do have it set to:

Notify me if someone who is not on my list messages me.

I get used to it

A lot of them.... is a mess

i pull in that 5-10/day area too. even after all my msn spam of the summer seems to have dried up and disappeared, icq is still getting hammered.

i just wish adult webmasters would get their shit together and start migrating towards an IM service that doesn't suck balls. ICQ is unreliable as fuck for delivering messages, it is crowded with russian spam, and it's just outright a pain in the ass.

If it weren't for needing to contact adult webmasters, i'd have zero fucking use for it.
