I have alot of tattooos but I aquired them slowly over time. I'm glad I did. I have friends who you can track their evolution of style and taste through the tattoos they have. Not only that, but usually the first few tattoos aren't done by the bests artists either. I don't regret any of my ink, but there are one or two pieces I wish I had gotten done by someone else.

It's weird to see 18 year old girls with giant chest peices and full sleeves. Getting tattoos in places that aren't covered by a tshirt is a pretty big commitment. Most artists I know won't put something somewhere visibile like that unless the person has alot of ink elsewhere on their body.

I saw a young chick a few years back, maybe only 18 or 19, sh was broken down in a residential neighborhood and was getting one of the men who lived on the street to help her with changing her tire. She was wearing a cap sleeve shirt and had only one tattoo I could see- and it was on her neck. She's got a huge dark peice right on the side of her neck and she can't even change her own tire. WTF!? I wasn't even as upset with her poor decission as I was with whatever nimrod put it on her. Here you have what might be this girl's first tattoo and you slapped it right on her fucking neck. Christ. :disgust

btw. I dont mind tats at all on chicks (except for tramp stamps, they are so fucking lame.). I dont mind no tats at all either.

I think i like no tats at all a little more though, i like a chick to be completely naked and no tats makes them that little bit more naked.

Everyone has their own preference I guess. I don't knock it, but I think a tattoo on a hot chick is like putting a bumper sticker on a Ferrari. On very rare occasions it can look good, but most of the time not for me.

it has nothing to do with being 'vanilla' or 'closed minded'. some people just think tattoos look stupid/ugly. i never really understood the point of getting little permanent drawings that just look shittier the older you get on your skin. to each their own but just because someone doesn't share your view doesn't make them closed minded.

Here's the deal with tats if you are a porn chick. They will lose you more work than you will get. Art? Whose art? Its not my art so why would I want to photograph it? Mostly it isn't art. Its shit done by a bunch mid range tat artists and there is no rhyme or reason for it. Actually most of it is not art. Professionally its a niche. More power to you if you can work it. I have had girls get really mad when I turn them down as models because they have tats. If I want tats, I can get someone to come along and paint them on for the job. Oh, and they date the fuck out of a girl. You know some have monocrhome tats, others have Celtic tats, the angel wings.....etc etc. They show your age within 5 years. Notice when Angelina Jolie, who has some nasty mother fucking tats is in a movie, they are hidden. Why? Because they are inappropriate for the role. I don't give a fast flying if anyone wants to ink their body. The only reason they piss me off, is there have been a bunch of girls I would have liked to have shot and just can't use them. They lose more in the end than they gain from putting their own idea of what is art all over what should be a blank canvas for a photographer.

And yes, some people ARE closed minded. People who love tattoo's generally accept people with or without. a MASSIVE number of people who don't have tattoo's treat people with tattoo's differently. There's a lot of prejudice over body mods. It's stupid and it's small minded.

Maybe 30 years ago :1orglaugh. Tats are mainstream as fuck now though, and 90% of the tattoos out there are ON smallminded, unoriginal, and cookiecutter peope. Now I know you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, but where 30 years ago people may have looked at someone with a tat and thought they were a criminal or druggy, or someone you wouldn't want to converse with because they could be dangerous. It is an entirely different way of looking at these people now. When people discriminate against someone covered in tats now, it tends to be the view that they are an unoriginal, uninspired, bandwagon hopping idiot. Which I have to agree, for 90% of the time is probably TRUE. Seriously, getting a tattoo used to be a cool rebellious individual thing to do, but now everyone and their fucking grandma has a tattoo. I get judged because of my tattoo's and piercings. Fuck it... I don't care, but it's completely fucked up that it still happens.

Also ... what you fail to remember is that ink is unique if you design it yourself or you have something designed for you. Yes there are pre-designed ones that a lot of people have ... but by having unique ink, it's as unique as you are to the person next to you. That's the difference.

I like my tattoos. You only live once. All of my tattoos were designed and inked by personal friends of mine. I like having a piece of them on me, and my tattoos all tell a story of some sort...I can definitely understand why people wouldn't like them, but to make a blanket statement that everyone who has them is trashy or stupid is pretty retarded.
