I think that cities that are interesting "per se" disregarding if there's a summit or not and will call attention to more people are:
Rome Paris Prague Berlin in no particular order however, I think Barcelona is and will always be the best place for this kind of events. Maybe Marseille if you want to change air |
it might be cheap to get to London, but everything else is expensive as hell. therefore Prague would get my vote, also because of the "entertainment factor" :)

Also mentioned in this thread is Budapest, that would be my 2nd choice. Been to both places multiple times and I think the best variety for the adult arena would be Prague, it would gather a lot of attendance also from eastern europe. Andreas: I do not like the idea of a show every 8 months, get it planned on fixed months every year to avoid conflicts with other shows, if you start conflicting shows you ruin the value of both :2 cents: |

Locations in EU
I would love to go to a show in Madrid, or Portugal somewhere, Italy would be awesome too. If it's summer then Berlin. ;-)
|
London, Rome
|
Madrid and Ibiza get my vote for the summer months, but if you do it again in Feb, did you know that Andorra has an ice hotel? Who would have thunk it!
Roald, you kill me with the Iceland suggestion. Heehee |
Although I would love to go to a show in more "fun" places: Australia, Thailand, Japan, etc... from a practical standpoint, Paris, London and Prague make the most sense. Vancouver could also work since it's right above Vegas and LA.
I don't think holding a show in October is very practical since Oktoberfest is the last week of Sept and as JFK pointed out, Venus is in Oct. My vote if you are doing a show in the 2nd half of the year would be Nov. If you are going to do an October show, having it REALLY close to the Oktoberfest Gathering would be perfect so everyone who goes to that can just fly directly to the next show ;) |

I like the idea of Cancun.. Could just do $1000-$1500 per person with flight from the USA/Canada.. All you can eat.. all you can drink.. for free no real need for sponsorships Lots to do. *if you want to do sponsor ships *wet wet t-shirt contents or just sponsor the wave-runners . Could do it at the start or just b4 the off season.. and rent the place out.. They should be happy even if they only sell 1/3 the rooms.. Free badges... then even the little guys can make it down as its just the same as the cost for a flight and a room to any other show for them.. And no need to worry about getting stuck with the drink / dinner bill as people dash just before it shows up.... |

I'd say November is a good time both for people that wanna close a couple of quick deals before the end of a tax year or to make postponed deals for the new tax year |

What about a private cruise??? http://smallshipcruises.com/silversea.shtml Take over an entire cruise ship just for ourselves and cruise to cool places, while conducting seminars/panels on the days at sea. There's a lot to do, without having to go anywhere, and a great deal for what you get (food, destinations, gambling, etc) There are several ships that accommodate 300 people and under, so it would be pretty easy to fill based on the amount of registrants you have for the Barcelona Summit:thumbsup Only trouble is Internet is expensive, but at least available |
Jenni just reminded me of an idea we had for the very first Summit: To do it on a cruise ship. We did not do it back than, because we figured 400-500 people would not like to be stuck on a ship together for 48-72 hours. What is your take on this?
