An excellent point Due!

A question for everyone: Which months would work best for you (and do not conflict with any other show)?

I think other than maybe Nov/Dec , most months have a show so it will always be a conflicting date for a lot of webmasters....will be a matter of which show they choose to attend.

Sharky 02-06-2010 08:06 AM

London is way too expensive. I attended iDate and Ad-tech there last year and it was by far the most expensive 5-day trip I have taken to date.

gaffg 02-06-2010 09:31 AM

Scotland - has English, not too expensive to fly into and easily accessible via UK. Might not be as pricy as London but I'm sure hotels can be had for high and low end rates.

baddog 02-06-2010 10:44 AM

I would go if ever in Ireland.

DamianJ 02-06-2010 10:57 AM

Most major cities in Europe are expensive for Americans. I notice no difference in prices between London, Amsterdam, Paris, Dublin, Rome, etc.

My vote would be London. Easiest international connections and 50 mins from where I live. :D

Klen 02-06-2010 11:04 AM

Prague,beacuse is cheap,people speak english,connected good with entire world,etc...

Ines 02-07-2010 01:17 AM

I would give Florence or Pisa a shot :)
Aren't we all VIPs? :P

I agree Damian. I do not find any price differences anymore between major cities in Western Europe.

The currently weak dollar is a major problem for my participants and sponsors from the U.S. currently for sure. Definitely does not help when it comes to attracting people from the U.S. to my show.

On the other hand - I was just in London for a gathering last Tuesday, and I found London to be CHEAP (even compared to Barcelona) - as the Pound is close to it's all-time historic low against the Euro...

I am currently trying to partner up with one of the existing shows for fall 2010 to avoid conflicting shows. Let's see how it goes. I will keep you posted.

spankmo 02-08-2010 10:55 AM

How about Barcelona? As great as some make it out to be?

Ok, ok... you got me there. I have always been very impressed with Barcelona, its sites, and its women. We do Barcelona for the last week of August as the 'after party for Ibiza, which we do for the first three weeks of the month. :upsidedow

Exo-Geoffrey 02-09-2010 02:40 AM

Ibiza for summer shows and Geneva for winter shows

notime 02-09-2010 03:13 AM

Why not make Barcelona the "fixed spot" and do a traveling show in a different city each quarter or 3 times per year (so not the same city twice)?
Should bring another crowd and many local to each show also.
Rome, Paris, London, Prague, Lisbon, Cancun, Toronto, Hamburg, Dublin, Brussels, Budapest, etc.

huda 02-09-2010 03:18 AM

I am all for Eastern Europe in Spring / Summer / Autumn!

Czech Republic or Slovakia would be great. Or even further east to Ukraine

You are aware that porn is absolutely illegal in Ukraine...? :)

Yes, that was my original idea. To have a fixed show in Barcelona one time per year, and than a second one rotating between Paris, London, Rome, Ibiza, Lisbon, Amsterdam, Prague and Madrid...

Brings us back to the question, which 2 month per year would be good for that (without conflicting with other shows)? And - is that not too many shows? What's your take?

SASCHA WINKLER 02-09-2010 05:02 AM

And here are the votes from Germany:
  • Eivissa
  • Budapest
  • Chicago

CU soon...

TBS_Andreas 02-09-2010 09:23 AM

There are a surprising number of people suggesting Chicago. I doubt that it would be a good idea for me to try to put on a show in Chicago myself, but may be something for my North American collegues to consider...

Yeah, but I know of this little underground 'bar' that has a pool table, a bunch of naked girls, a tattoo chair, some guys with guns, an 8' snake on the loose, ... lol Long story but a crazy hangout spot, a few times that I have visited. I love that fucking city. :1orglaugh

Can't help but think of Big Sister in Prague with that reference (maybe without the snake), I'm sure Carlos the Gaucho would be happy to host a party at the club.:thumbsup

Yes, two times to Bucaresti.

I like Romania, but I don't think that Romania attracts a broad audience - yet. May be in 2-3 years...

Would like to go to Cluj though soon. I heard it is beautiful and growing like crazy...

leedsfan 02-09-2010 02:44 PM

Vancouver, obviously. consistently voted best place to live in the world. Plus we have had some great shows here in the past...

arock10 02-09-2010 03:24 PM

Maybe just build out Barcelona more before going to show 2 & 3?
It's better to have 1 show where maybe 800 people go to then 3 shows where 100 or 200 people come to.

Good point. I would not mind doing another, bigger show in Barcelona - if the participants and sponsors do not mind.

Under 300 is not an option. If that happens I will stop doing shows.

I did not mean that 100 or 200 people go to your show Andreas. Just saying it might be better to expand the current one then to gamble on many shows these days.

Maybe the other shows could be reffered to as local gatherings as a possible new niche that only a few people get into? Might have a nice local touch, I would have to agree.

Hi Jaques,

This is something we are currently considering to do inbetween Summits. To do a roadshow of smaller, local gatherings all throughout Europe. I will present this idea at the Summit to my sponsors. If I manage to get some (few) sponsors behind this concept and it makes economical sense for everybody involved (participants, sponsors and ourselves) than we will do it.

Looking very much forward to welcoming you next week Jaques!
Andreas
