It's better to have 1 show where maybe 800 people go to then 3 shows where 100 or 200 people come to.

@ all

Would you mind if you had to come back to Barcelona end of the year for some more business and fun?

I think a summer show in Barcelona is a good option, last year the weather was sublime. I also have a cool ass place I can take folks for a great afternoon of white water rafting. If not Barca then Sitjes would be a good option, I know a few folks there:winkwink:

baddog 02-11-2010 11:55 AM

I think trying to add more shows when everyone else is cutting back is not a great business strategy. Unless you are only trying to attract people from Europe.

Your timing is off, IMHO.

Cash 02-11-2010 12:26 PM

Bucharest, Romania, would be a good city for such a summit.

Why not make Barcelona the "fixed spot" and do a traveling show in a different city each quarter or 3 times per year (so not the same city twice)?
Should bring another crowd and many local to each show also.
Rome, Paris, London, Prague, Lisbon, Cancun, Toronto, Hamburg, Dublin, Brussels, Budapest, etc.

That's a good idea

i like the idea of Sitges of course.. anyhow, i'd say fix the main event in BCN at a regular time each year, and organise smaller gatherings around Europe, so that hardcore party people can jet in if they want to, and the locals get a chance to network and host visitors in their city.

Yes, I was seriously thinking about doing it some day in Sitges. The Sol Melia hotel there would work PERFECT for an event of our size.

For those of you, who might not know SITGES, this is it:
http://www.virtourist.com/europe/sitges/01qtvr.htm

A 25k beach town 40 minutes south of Barcelona.

You like it? :)

That is an idea that we will present to our sponsors next week at the Summit. If we get some sponsors behind this concept, I would like to do a "The European Summit" road show through all the major European capitals!

Wanna throw some money in the hat? :) :) :)

Just Mike 02-12-2010 12:40 PM

i think London (Or a close by city to Downtown london) or Northern Italy.

Dubba 02-12-2010 12:49 PM

I'm from Romania. Is good to go somewhere else:)

I think if you did four shows, all in the EU for the North (UK, Netherlands, Germany), South (Italy), East (Hungary, Romania) and West (Spain) parts of the continent you'll have covered all your bases.

I was talking to the Webcams guys on doing a small gathering/show in a Scottish castle, something like that would be cool to attend.

The good thing is: Nobody wants to go to Serbia. That is what I like about it as a private person. No annoying tourists, and locals still treat you with respect, as you are not tourist number one million of the day (like in Prague, where people are sick and tired of foreigners already). I love Belgrade.

The bad thing: Nobody wants to go to Serbia. Which makes it difficult to put on a serious show there. Also bars and restaurants are far bejond standard (at least they were in 2009, when I visited Belgrade the last time). The party scene at all those discotheks at the river was amazing though...

Definitely want to go back to Belgrade this year in the summer. The party scene rocks! :)

Your best bet is to just "poll" the attendees of the Summit next week as we will be the ones most likely to be your core group ;)

CPimp 02-14-2010 09:29 PM

Although I am newer to the business, I am wanting to get more involved and planning to attend a US show sometime in the summer. Since you're asking for input on where a show should be held, I'd like to give my two cents and recommend somewhere in the US or canada... but my 2 cents prob dont count for much here ;)

There are already 4 shows in the summer in the U.S. and Canada - so I think a) there is not a need for me to come in and put on another U.S. show and b) I don't think it would be very well received by the Adult Online industry, if I would try to put on a U.S. show. :)

P.S.: Besides, there is still so much work and business to be done here in Europe, that we will be busy for a few years with that - In the end Europe is the largest Economy on this planet :)

I would love to do a show at an "exotic" place like Moscow, St. Petersburg or similar - but I doubt that I could motivate 400-500 people to fly out there. Not "mainstream" enough for a show, I would say. What do you think?

Actual Mike 02-25-2010 09:00 AM

Dude, 1 word....EuroDisney!

Adultlexicon 03-08-2010 01:46 PM

AOE is dead.

WMA often doesn't announce the amsterdam show until a couple of months before. However, judging by last year there is no way is wouldn't happen again, it was a great show despite the slow economy.

SZNY 03-08-2010 03:34 PM

Prague (there is enough to do and it's a nice city)
Ibiza (good to combine biz with good food, parties and good weather)
Macau (never been there, know its the LV of Asia, maybe nice to experience it once)

Horny Joe 03-08-2010 03:41 PM

Prague! or Paris! COunt me in this time!

I "heard" that 2010 is the last one for AMS WA.

CosmicTang 03-08-2010 04:30 PM

Prague seems like the most intelligent choice. I know very recently it was a great deal economically to travel to, and for Americans, it's the highest concentration of Americans outside of the US so there shouldn't be much of a language issue.

Then as was pointed out, Big Sister is there. There's a built in co-host. :)

May I ask where you found that stat?

sexyelisha 03-08-2010 04:41 PM

Another vote for London from me :) But then I am slightly biased. Was a shame to miss the Barcelona one just gone... I wouldn't recommend Scotland it's too cold!! (lived there for 7 years) lol.. although Cyprus / Portugal etc would be nice too.
