Ah yes, college people are sheeple, while everyone without a degree somehow knows something nobody else does. TOo much rationalization.
|
i dropped out in my 3rd year of my compsci degree and never regretted it until later in life, as i was making 30k/mo easy with my paysites back in the dialup days. when ibills shit hit the fan in 2003 i lost all my rebills and had to get some regular jobs to pay the bills and eat. truck driver, security guard, indian casino (inside lol there) and had i had a degree i would have had more backup plan options for sure. one thing I can say is that not having a college degree will hone your hustling skills and thats gold when you apply it to this industry

Let me ask you IF you didnt HONE your hustling skills would you even be here ? Do you make more than most with that same degree ? |

1. You never told me / old wise ASS/ what is the difference between truth and fact 2. Did you know it's best to shut the fuck up if you know not what you speaketh 3. This should of been #1. Your whole philosophy is twisted, hence your sig. Avatar did record numbers. I know it was pirated. My question was do you think it wasn't ? Meaning do you think anyone has a pirated copy on their foreign made PS3 playing on their foreign made Tel lie vision= something you see as showing the truth most times. For further clarification. Maybe college was for people like you. Those who had problems adapting. |

Truth vs Fact
There is a difference.
I will start with Verse 2 for you. What is a stereotypical stereotype ? Turn to page YOU !! |

I'm going to go ahead and go with "no".

I think marketing, accounting and other business courses could be useful for a CEO.
So, for anyone that wants to start a corporation - think about it. |
close the thread with a classic lesson I learned getting brains from the head of the class.
One mans trash is another mans treasure. Here is one from me: Pussy is Power Get you sum |
I've always known what I wanted to do and got experience rather than going to college(plus, I read the courses and.. not to sound arrogant, but I knew most of what they were going to "teach me" and what I didn't know... I went to the book store and learned).. I don't necessarily think it's a waste generally speaking, but for me it was.. when I looked into going.
With that said, I'm very seriously considering going to get a double major in Philosophy and Arabic.. then a masters in Middle Eastern Studies... mainly for the knowledge. Or switch Philosophy to History.. I think it'd be interesting. |
Bravo Trev.

I carried 16 units or more for five years and have way more than enough credits to apply for a degree...but I never applied for a degree. I changed majors several times and I never really found a major that I wanted to carry through with...and financially I did not need a degree to earn money...as I was pretty well off financially...so I just never applied for a degree. I do not...how ever...think that attending college was a waste of my time as I enjoyed learning.

college is good for.....

oh, and i just wanted to add this: im not sure if there is a difference in the language used but here in canada college is typically what the C students go to after high school. the people who want an actual career and not just a trade go to university. |
My view is that university, more notably advanced degrees, refines your 'processes' and helps you 'mature' your decision-making, especially in business. Formal education helps you organize 'cluttered' environments and can, ultimately, help you maximize efficiency (individual, organizational, or otherwise). 'Formal education is a waste of money,' 'it doesn't teach you about real life,' etc... are lame excuses. I'm not saying that everyone on the planet needs to have a formal education to be successful or 'smart' or to be on the same 'social level' as those who do possess a degree. I just feel that you're at an advantage if you add certain amount of education to back your on-the-ground experience. :)

What the fuck is "the real world"?
|
It's not just about grades and fact-learning, and it's not just about partying and networking. It's a complete experience in learning, independence and growth. I know I never would have been exposed to some of the intellectual stimulation I've had without, yet many of the intellectually challenging things I've been through would still have happened without it. College is a foundation.
I'll never regret one minute I spent at college. |
I spent 7 years in college and loved the experience.

college shows
1) time management skills 2) deadline management 3) the ability to handle 3-4 years of bullshit and get decent enough grades to graduate. 4) ability to listen, write etc 5) works well in groups/presentations. hence why companies will hire someone with a degree regardless if it's in their field. |

"Absolutely NUTHIN'!!" Say it again - awwwwwww COLLEGE! Good gawy y'all - "What IS it goo-o-od for?" "NUTHIN'!!!" Say it again - |
