Here's my ride at a recent track day at Daytona. Nothing special, just a dependable ride that gets me where I want to go.

Danish car taxes limit the selection quite a bit unless you're seriously loaded, so you have to find a compromise between price and value.

Aha, so you fooled me;-)
I'm in Scheveningen myself, that is why I thought it was nice for Dutch seaside. 300km away isn't actually seaside, more like drenthe;-)

Nice car, I used to own the 25th Anniversary Edition GTI

http://i1.bebo.com/043b/14/large/200...810223433l.jpg

Sold it in 2006 due to having kids driving up my ass wanting to race me a lot. They didnt fully understand the power of the thing lol

I bought this about a year later

http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos..._2034709_n.jpg

Sold it last June because I moved to a tiny country in the middle of the Med Sea and I don't need a car anymore! Will pick up another BMW when I return home.

Love the 993 :thumbsup

Nice to see a Porsche owner who isn't afraid of the track.

I currently drive a '97 XJ. Not mine below, but thats the style and color minus the red pinstripe.

http://dealerrevs.com/pictures/20627178.jpg

I just got hit from behind last week by an Escalade. He was going too fast and couldn't stop in time. Not much damage, but the rear bumper assembly would need to be replaced to fix it back to stock.
I'm going to run it thru an auction and pickup an '01 WJ Limited like below on Saturday.

http://www.newrivermotors.com/images...e_01_Black.jpg

I used to own a '99 Jetta, pretty much new when I picked it up off lease for a steal with only 30k on it from the company I used to work for, but after daily driving in the city, lack of respect from other people in parking lots drove me crazy. So I've chosen to just pickup beaters for a while. The WJ I'm grabbing for $2500. I can easily flip it for $7k if I wanted.

I almost, almost caved and was going to grab this puppy, an '07 GC SRT8

I just might when I see it again on Saturday :1orglaugh

Cool stuff - always liked both the Z4 and the mk IV design a lot - I heard the 25th anniversary edition was made as the standard mk IV GTI should have been made :)

I plan to follow a similar path - buying a BMW this year - I've had the Golf from new so it's time for a change. I am considering the M3 e46 or the new 335i coupe. I am leaning towards the 335i since I've got a feeling that 95% of the time I will appreciate its GT characteristics over the slightly more extreme M3.

xenigo 02-16-2010 03:42 PM

We just bought this. For those that don't know what the 335i is, it has a twin-turbo V6 that puts out 300hp, and 300ft. lbs. of torque. 300ft. lbs. torque comes on at 1400rpm. The performance capabilities of this car are absolutely amazing.

It does 0-60 in 5 seconds flat, and seats 5 people. :)

You and Rob have some pretty impressive vehicles. Has Rob had any more issues with the law since his Lamborghini media fiasco?

My daily driver: 2000 9-5 2.3T w/ ~170,000 miles. Other than a few spots that could use a repaint, it's like new inside and out. Turbo goes 'FWEEEEE'. Pic is body double; too lazy to find my camera.

The "new car". 2008 9-5 2.3T w/ ~10,000 miles. Turbo also goes 'FWEEEEE'. Pic is another a body double.

Lighter, faster, more powerful, more efficient: no other element of an automobile defines its character as much as its engine.
