Excellent news too. European tubes must be an even easier target than those US based since there's no DMCA in Europe, so good luck hunting.

Bman 02-16-2010 01:31 PM

Congrats! I love Topbucks even more. Doing the right thing is always good!

no, but log files do and trying to explain why you have no log files to a judge doesnt help out your fight... :2 cents:

plus like i stated over a year ago, if these companies can pay people to sift through uploaded content and shitcan files with watermarks then they can surely check for pirated content..

Klen 02-16-2010 01:38 PM

Hope this will work without any settlement.
Also about DMCA thing-that thing about "if they remove content when requested, they are not guilty"does'nt have much sense beacuse when you notice your content on sites and send request to remove it can be viewed million times.
Also, does anyone remember case RIAA versus napster?
I mean it's basicly same shit but little different delivery type, they managed to force napster to filter all ilegall content and to show only legal files.

So what someone should do,is to force biggest tube sites to either remove upload function,or filter all content which doesnt have proper documentation, same as they did with napster and mininova.
Also, there is absolutely no need to steal content, after all they earn enough money to buy shitload of content or even to produce exclusive content for tube site.
And so far biggest legal tube is 4tube.com,not youporn.com which still accept uploads and i see docs requiments only for Usa public.

Mad respect for Top Bucks and Titan Media stepping up to legally prosecute theft by certain tube sites.

A couple more big lawsuits and I would assume they are done...

Bugbee 02-16-2010 02:05 PM

51 lawsuits

XPays 02-16-2010 02:06 PM

it's not the beginning of the end, it's the beginning of the middle

DateDoc 02-16-2010 02:09 PM

This will probably end up like the redtube suit.

Longboat full of Vikings 02-16-2010 02:11 PM

doubt it, for a whole year they denied even owning pornhub, even though an early registration record showd their mailing address for the domain, they even went on to say its not in our budget or plan to run these type of sites, they kept on denying it for a couple years, but in private they were buying link exchanges for the sites.

Yes,unless other content producers come to their senses and join this.It is always bigger chance to win lawsuit if tons of people/company join instead just one.

i doubt it. if they're structured right they'll go bankrupt and "sell" assets to other companies (which they secretly own) and be back at it again in under a few months

You cannot just sell your assets to whoever you want under bankruptcy.

magpan 02-16-2010 02:48 PM

Yup, sig spot on this one for sure! :)

Loch 02-16-2010 02:53 PM

Its only a matter of time before some of these sites crumble.
I know of huge legit companies that actually BUY and will be running legal tubes, when they launch and if the Illigal tubes do not change they will be screwed.

And if Brazzers settle now they will have another 20 lawsuits next week....they kinda have their backs against the wall right now lol

JenniDahling 02-16-2010 02:57 PM

Wonder who will spearhead a Class Action suit? Good for TopBucks for taking a stand on piracy. I agree with Roald, when done right a tube site isn't a bad thing, especially as a marketing vehicle for your brand.

It's the ones that rip full scenes and especially without permission that's killing our biz. I have a feeling TopBucks just opened the gate... let's see who follows suit.

Persius 02-16-2010 03:13 PM

wow.......

DWB 02-16-2010 03:13 PM

Bwahahahahahahahahaha.

That's two MAJOR issues in a week. Sucks to be them. I hope they lose it all.

dyna mo 02-16-2010 04:52 PM

why would they settle? a settlement would be a % of the 6.75m- a couple mil and the tubes continue on? hell. tb/pv has probably lost many times more than that due to all infringment not to mention leaving the door open for more loses.

i have a hunch that tb/pv is in it to win it and get this shit behind us all.
