I believe, the C n D is for Aaron M speaking in a 'Program Announcement' thread that was started after the pevious engagement during the release of the site Aaron was supposed to shoot for.

Rory 12-23-2002 03:05 AM

I will not and dont feel it neccessary to go in depth about why I would send a letter. The lawyer did quote some things from a post made in the last 30 days yes, but people making assumptions about why that letter was written are making just that, assumptions. This has little to do with merely one post on GFY. The letter was written as a solution that would benefit us both , and eliminate a very childish situation. The choice that Aaron made to make this once again a public issue is too bad, I was hoping we could both move on. There is nothing in that letter except for asking for Aaron to discontinue any business relationships with me and my company. If he feels that there was anything wrong with the letter there was plenty of contact info on the letter.

MonkeyMan 12-23-2002 03:07 AM

I are lawyer. give 750$ NOW!.

Correct, However......The letter says that I ........

[pokerface]Nevermind. I will not be showing my hand just yet.[/pokerface]

Rory 12-23-2002 03:12 AM

And please since this was brought to a public board do take time to read the letter. Iam not going after anyone , the letter was sent asking Aaron to discontinue some things and just be done with my company. Look at the threads .... its not Rory quoting Aaron, its Aaron quoting Rory. Anyhow a GFY post is not the sole reason the letter was written , and this is a matter between AaronM and my company , the opinion of GFY is just that an opinion. He wants to pursue the issue so what is wrong with having a judge make a decision and move on with business , that is the choice I guess Aaron made. Iam not out to screw anyone (still trying to figure out how the guy who pays the money out is the one that is doing the screwing anyhow) , however I will take appropriate actions to protect my assests. This had no business on GFY, however its unfortunate that theer are some who feel that business dealing should be a public affair, so here we are.

Im not trying to intimidate through a lawyer , actually I would think that having threads deleted (like was done in some earlier threads) would be more of an attempt at intimidation IMO. I dont wanna sue anyone , the letter was intended to bring an official handshake and move on to our business relationship. The letter basically said quit talking shit lies and we will let the $750 you owe me go away. Was a offering in which both parties stood to gain ....... he keeps the $750 , and I dont have to worry about defending myself against a guy with a personal vengeance against me. That letter never said he was being sued (which this thread topic says) , it was letting him know of my intention to pursue it if he couldn't just move on. This could have been settled and done with if he didnt feel it was neccessary to bring it up on boards. He is the one deciding to continue pushing this.

When you talk too much shit about someone you can expect something like this.
You shouldn't be surprised

Serge_Oprano 12-23-2002 05:41 AM

I know nothing about the matter at hand but:

State of NJ recognises ORAL contracts up to $500,
check Oregon statues

This letter has more holes from legal point of view than the fishing net

Unless the lawyer is a personal friend or member of the family,
the litigation, expert witness testemonies and discoveries will
cost 20-50 times more than the amount in dispute

I think we should do a non-binding GFY arbitration,
anybody wanna represent Plaintiff?

I'll represent Aaron, just because motherfucker still owes me dinner and if he loses I'll NEVER get the dinner out of him!

Aaron,
you are a cum sucking prick
(not to be repeated in public without my expressed permission)
but I'll defend you anyway

Well the defendent can claim presendent that EVERY post on this board asking for help/oppions on products/oppions on new ideas/etc etc are BLOWN OUT OF THE FUCKING WATER by 100 people claiming there products and ideas are old, pathetic at best, unorginial, will have bad retention, and generally SUCK ASS!

He can claim since everyone gets the shit beaten out of them on GFY on a regular basis for posting a mear "Whats do you think of my site idea" message, that this person should of known what he was too expect jumping on such a hostile board asking for helpful oppions.

But hey its why we love GFY, just say what you fucking think not what you think you think you should say.

thefreakybeaver 12-23-2002 08:01 AM

I used to type letters like this for a lawyer and I never saw anything like the below lmfao

"the concept is weak at best and the retention will likely suck"

Where's all the real legal mumbo jumbo?

I dont' post much here but I read alot of the posts and remember the thread about the $750.

If I remember correctly, AaronM was told he could keep it as a "kill fee" because Rory didn't come up with the dough for the shoots. Not sure if that is how it was worded but it was accepted in public. Does that matter, heck if I know :)

Aaron, the way this country goes,
you will lose $500,000 in a heart beat..

retain me and risk ONLY $250,000 damage!
;-)))

case studies:

1. Kathleen Robertson of Austin, Texas, was awarded $780,000 by a jury of her peers after breaking her ankle tripping over a toddler who was running inside a furniture store. The owners of the store were understandably surprised at the verdict, considering the misbehaving little toddler was Ms. Robertson's son.

2. A 19-year-old Carl Truman of Los Angeles won $74,000 and medical
expenses when his neighbor ran over his hand with a Honda Accord. Mr.
Truman apparently didn't notice there was someone at the wheel of the car when he was trying to steal his neighbor's hubcaps.

3. Terrence Dickson of Bristol, Pennsylvania, was leaving a house he had just finished robbing by way of the garage. He was not able to get the garage door to go up since the automatic door opener was malfunctioning. He couldn't re-enter the house because the door connecting the house and garage locked when he pulled it shut. The family was on vacation, and Mr.Dickson found himself locked in the garage for eight days. He subsisted on a case of Pepsi he found, and a large bag of dry dog food. He sued the homeowner's insurance claiming the situation caused him undue mental anguish. The jury agreed to the tune of $500,000.

4. Jerry Williams of Little Rock, Arkansas, was awarded $14,500 and medical expenses after being bitten on the buttocks by his next door neighbor's beagle. The beagle was on a chain in its owner's fenced yard. The award was less than sought because the jury felt the dog might have been just a little provoked at the time by Mr. Williams who was shooting it repeatedly with a pellet gun.

5. A Philadelphia restaurant was ordered to pay Amber Carson of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, $113,500 after she slipped on a soft drink and broke her coccyx (tailbone). The beverage was on the floor because Ms. Carson had thrown it at her boyfriend 30 seconds earlier during an argument.

6. Kara Walton of Claymont, Delaware, successfully sued the owner of a
night club in a neighboring city when she fell from the bathroom window to the floor and knocked out her two front teeth. This occurred while Ms. Walton was trying to sneak through the window in the ladies room to avoid paying the $3.50 cover charge. She was awarded $12,000 and dental expenses.

7. This year's favorite could easily be Mr. Merv Grazinski of Oklahoma
City, Oklahoma. Mr. Grazinski purchased a brand new 32-foot Winnebago
motor home. On his first trip home, having driven onto the freeway, he set the cruise control at 70 mph and calmly left the drivers seat to go into the back and make himself a cup of coffee. Not surprisingly, the R.V. left the freeway, crashed and overturned. Mr. Grazinski sued Winnebago for not advising him in the owner's manual that he couldn't actually do this. The jury awarded him $1,750,000 plus a new motorhome. The company actually changed their manuals on the basis of this suit, just in case there were any other complete morons buying their recreation vehicles.

Those stories are fake - as well as almost every story on the net dealing with excessive jury awards.

even the mcdonalds case was blown out of proportion by the media - if people knew the true facts they might think differently.
