You don't have to be scamming or fucking anyone over to drop ethics. As I said earlier, anyone who is making money in this industry is bending some moral limit, or breaking someone else's view of what is "ethically" considered fair play. Be it in the eyes of the surfer, their peers, or even the search engines they're attempting to rank on. If you think this is a moral or ethical business pull your head out of your fucking ass...

True cat. Jew cat.
I think it's fair to say almost any business has bad elements about it, I used to work in Consultancy, and you may as well have just reached into people's wallets and taken their money while staring at them smiling. I'm far from burnt out Mr Nobody, I was putting this up here to see if anyone had any strong views either way. The easy answer is there's never been any ethics in this business since day 1. |

My comments weren't directed at you, more at all the people who seem to think they are cruising down some moral highroad to success. I'd bet every one of them have at the very least promoted a product they knew was a shit ripoff, or backlink spammed, or used some level of deceptive marketing to push a sale. Gimme a break. Does whitehat even exist anymore? |

I agree with you and Angry Jew Cat. There are no 'morals' or 'ethics' in this biz. I run a "fair" operation, and treat everyone I work with honestly, and sometimes wonder why I even bother since many people just assume everyone's a thief anyway...But then again, everyone I've done business with on this board has been fair, honest people who do good work. Hopefully they feel the ame way about me... But 'morals' is a relative term. Just ask a European. I know people who would be appalled and clutch at their chest if their little girl was in PLAYBOY, let alone see them shoving two cocks in her ass for that extra couple $100's the "director" just offered her....well, there I go again. For me, since I shoot, edit, run websites, do just about everything from soup-to-nuts, including being my own affiliate, I find it easier to just say 'I work online' or 'I run websites' rather than go into detail. I don't really care what any human being thinks of me, my business, me, or anything, really. Other than a few key friends, family members, etc. And none of them give a flying diddlyfuck what I do, so... Just saying 'morals' is relative. Just ask Alabama. Peace. |

Obviously, different people have different values. There are some people who think that anything adult is immoral . . . and yet they are still in the adult biz . . . so they think they have carte blanche to be total scumbags because, hey, they are already slanging porn. They think it makes no difference whether they are complete crooks or just happen to promote membership sites featuring adult content because they laughably view it as all over the line. But, according to my value system, those people are scumbags and I avoid promoting anything they have anything to do with. And I don't think I'm wholly alone in this. Ethics and decency do count for something. |
