In all seriousness, our immigration laws suck fucking donkey balls. After 9/11 happened, America blamed us for harboring terrorists and making it too easy for them to just waltz right in. Well, they weren't wrong! We need to start turning some fucking people back for fuck sakes. Am I a racist? Probably, so what? Fuck you if you have a problem with it. I just hate anyone who gets a tax-free pass in this country, which last time I checked tends to be brown people. |
This thank you note from Brian Williams of NBC about Canada might be worth reading.

cons: very cold?
|
Canadian summers are awesome. The fall is beautiful but the winters are harsh in central and eastern Canada.
Internet and cell phone services are criminal (Rogers and Bell should be taken out back and beaten with a wet trout). Move to Japan! |
I think the cold weather would be a con for me..

Beautiful country and nice people..
But, the socialist attitude there is the main deal breaker for me. Just say NO to those high taxes and lousy health care services. I'd rather visit Canada than live there. |

http://shimmycash.com/shimmy22572.jpg they are not 100% tax exempt, they still pay the other 7% tax, pst/gst whatever its called. and from what i have seen a lot of white people have the indian cards i seen them using them at gas stations all the time. hell my ex wifes redneck mother in law has an indian status card. and they are porcelain white with blue eyes etc. go get yourself one like everyone else up there or pay the tax and deal with it. or marry an indian girl and use their status rights |

In order to get any status recognition you need to have 2 parents or grandparents who are registered status indians. Otherwise you need to be able to prove your native ancestry. Passing as a Metis person, DOES NOT EXEMPT YOU FROM TAXES. So I don't know what blue-eyes blonde indians you were talking to, but they were full of shit. We also offer immigrants a beautiful tax exmeption period upon moving to Canada. What the fuck is that all about? I'm a citizen of the god damned country and I never got a taxfree year in my life. Why the fuck are they given a free pass to move here? If you want to live here, come and pay taxes like the rest of the country's born citizens. Another shitstorm that irritates the living fuck out of me. Foreigners can come here, get a work visa, work for their minimum number of hours, get a layoff, and collect Canadian unemployment insurance that they have never paid into up until this point? GTFO, you're not a citizen, how the fuck are you collecting UI paid for by citizens? |
1. Can anyone describe me how it works if you lose a job? Wellfare or anything? Do they offer you any job substitute? For how long do they pay your jobless?
2. How expensive is hiring a nunny for 2 kids say 4 hours a day afternoon time? 3. I read your gas price, not scared its same here. 4. Weapon, is that also easy to buy like in the US? 5. Leasing a new car, is that too expensive comparing to say buying a used one in a good condition? 6. Cable internetm how expensive is say 5Mbit pipe a month? 7. Daycare and public schools, is that payable? How much, well, consider something average. 8. I liked Halifax views and house pricng. I can tell you it's even less expensive then where I live. What the fuck with Atlantic Canada, why so cheap? 9. Mobile phones, okay, I just need a family plan I guess, so mostly internal calls, if you get that free in Canada. 10. Why do you have your bathroom equipment so standartized all over North America, and most important, who invented that shitter that stays filled up in half with water when you do your dumping? |

i'll answer a few. weapons are a bit of a pain in the ass with the governments retarded and extremely expensive waste of money gun registry.
yes, there is welfare (i hope your not planning on using it lol), as well as UI for short term job loss. Cell phone coverage is a major rip off here, you get raped. i switched over to virgin mobile after getting burned for years with Rogers. |

the healthcare system is a joke - talk to doctors if you have some as personal friends or family members, especially in Southern Ontario where a third or more of Canadians live, cancer care is horrendous, and as the Baby Boomers keep on aging it's gonna be fucking scary. it's second class healthcare imho. My aunt just spent three days in an ER waiting for a bed, an 80 year old woman who worked her entire life paying her way in taxes and that's the reward of the glorious Canadian system that at 80 you get the same treatment as a third world peasant does in his country. it's rationed healthcare and most Canadians don't realize it because for basic and some type of healthcare needs the system works very well for broken bones, trauma cases, obstetrics, the cold/flu, yearly checkups etc
it's when you or a family member run up against something big where you'll see the huge cracks in the system. Rich Canadians will almost always head to an American clinic when their life is in danger, at least to get an opinion on what treatments are available both in the US and Canada. When you are told that there's a 4 month wait for your cancer treatment and that it won't make a difference in your outcome - get online and do your research. taxes are brutal but American taxes are catching up, a state like New York is almost or equally as bad as Canada for taxes - paying over 40% in income tax makes me physically ill. add on the stupid GST and provincial taxes on everything and it really is a socialist system. it's very hard for an American company to come to Canada, many decide after giving it a try it's not worth the investment. Everything for some reason just costs more. It's like a secret consipiracy where everybody just decides to charge more for things. You'll see an item in the US and it's significantly more expensive in Canada, no reason for it, thanks to NAFTA there's no duty on most American imported products. |

And then there are all the consumption taxes. A can of refried beans that costs 79 cents in the USA is fucking $4.39. By the time you add in all of the taxes you pay the total rate against your income is close to 50%. And don't get me started on the medical system. If you have a chronic problem or anything slightly out of the ordinary you are fucked. In 2008 I had to go to another country to get treatment...And guess what I am still fighting to deduct the amounts I paid for medical care from my taxes. |

Seriously, if you find it so miserable in Canada, move. Maybe that country you "had" to go to for treatment would take you in? |
