I don't know the entire background on his drug abuse, but from what I gathered in recent articles, it wasn't prescription drugs he was abusing. In fact, his mother said he had flu-like symptoms for the past few days. Perhaps he was on medication for that, and it didn't mix with other meds he was on.

I don't think he was actually abusing prescription drugs. Same with MJ, the problem is they have too many doctors prescribing different shit without knowing what existing meds the person is on, thus resulting in a deadly mix.

People who have prescription drug addictions typically use numerous doctors. How many people you know need multiple doctors to treat a flu?

It is taken very seriously. How many of them went to a bunch of different doctors for pills? Doctor shopping is a huge problem. Also people need to take some personal responsibility for their actions and seek treatment.

It is a pain in the ass to get a lot of prescription drugs. Most states keep a list of patients and what medications they are on. I take Xanax and they randomly make me take urine tests. It is crazy. :2 cents:

La_Sexorcist 03-10-2010 06:35 PM

My fav was him in Silver Bullet :)

On February 4, 2010, the Los Angeles County coroner stated that the primary cause of Murphy's death was pneumonia, with secondary factors of iron-deficiency anemia and multiple drug intoxication. On February 25, 2010, the coroner released a report stating that Murphy had been taking a range of over the counter and prescription medications, with the most likely reason being to treat a cold or respiratory infection. These included "elevated levels" of hydrocodone, acetaminophen, L-methamphetamine and chlorpheniramine. All of the drugs were legal and the death was ruled to be an accident, but the report observed: "the possible adverse physiological effects of elevated levels of these medications cannot be discounted, especially in her weakened state"

fatfoo 03-10-2010 06:40 PM

RIP Corey Haim. Say "no" to hard drugs.

That confirms my point. Even without the drugs she was dead woman walking. Which part of PRIMARY is confusing?

I just believe if one has a valid point to make one should do it with the facts. Making points that are non-factual actually takes away from one's point even if one is right.

LOL what part of "multiple drug intoxication" in the coronors report went over your head? :1orglaugh

The fact that it was a secondary cause of death does not take away from my point. Its likely her illness killed her because her immune system was weakened by the meds addiction.

Although i'm flattered by all the attention you give me, you really don't impress me. I don't think your very smart.

TheSenator 03-10-2010 09:48 PM

izzynew 03-11-2010 12:32 AM

That's really sad, even though it seemed almost inevitable. :(
Lost Boys was my favorite film as a kid. Played that tape so many times.
