Not everyone can afford to give away free traffic. I thought he owned that program or something.

Bump for this. Nice work in setting up the fund, Jenni. :) Judging by some of the comments, there is no shortage of classless fucks and haters around here and it's a 'breath of fresh air' that someone would consider doing something NICE for the family after someone passes. I wish that there were more like you around ... it gives me confidence that maybe I won't be forgotten if I drop dead tomorrow of a heart attack or otherwise.

RIP ASM.

GAMEFINEST 03-21-2010 10:14 PM

When my own husband died, David was one of those that extended his hand in kindness. Donation sent.

I also know what it feels like to love of your life before turning 30 and suddenly feel so alone, even when you're surrounded by people. One of the worst feelings in the world.

So, very true.

In those times, sometimes it is just nice to be reminded that people do care. The world feels pretty cold where she is right now.

Wow gal, that's heavy. I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Thanks for helping:thumbsup

For the record, David was successful at what he did, but he was also ill for a long time and had to undergo expensive surgeries and even constant medical treatments, just to stay alive. He helped many folks in this Industry, worked long hours, and never bitched about his condition. Honestly, I don't know if I could have been as gracious as he was, I would probably complain all the time if I was confined to a wheelchair and dealing with the pain of cancer.

I chose a random number for the donation site, I don't think that amount is even a drop in the bucket compared to what Julia is faced with expenses wise. Thank you to everyone who has donated, and Persian Kitty for suggesting the site. A check will be issued directly to Julia after the drive ends on April 30 and she doesn't know anything about it (she's had limited access to the internet right now and isn't one to be online normally).

Hope that didn't come out wrong. I too am fairly sick and I have two people that cannot work that I almost completely support financially.

If I was in a better position I would help, that is why I asked if there was a program I could try to send a few sales to.

I did not mean to be rude in my previous post. Personally, I feel like I have already give to David through my higher taxes which go towards public assistance.

Someone posted that public funds are diminished in the case where people earn money. That is true, but many people game the system and do not accurately report their income (in other words, they lie). I have no information to suggest that is the case here.

However, this matter highlights and supports my feelings about giving and charity and public assistance in general. In my opinion, because of the huge numbers of people who lie, cheat, and game the system, virtually all public social programs are inherently fraudulent and call into question all participants.

In my opinion, it is the local churches, local charities, friends, and family who are in the best position to determine if charity is truly deserved. I say kudos to all the generous people on this board who knew David and who donated. That is how it is supposed to work. The government and the taxpayers are better left out.

It is extremely nice and kind of people to donate to his widow. I admire them for this, and I extend my sincere condolences to her.

Thank you for creating this - I donated to help with finances and I also send heart felt thoughts for her heart healing.

This needs a bump.

JenniDahling 03-23-2010 08:18 PM

A huge thank you to those of you who have donated and those of you who send your condolences. Unfortunately Julia is not a member of this board and cannot see the this thread but wanted me to thank everyone for remembering David.

Let's keep this thread going and donations as well. ASM has helped a lot of folks in this biz either with his knowledge, time, or even just friendship.

To the top!

I told her to try, but not sure how pw protected he had his gear, she's not one to spend any time online shy of email.

For those of you who prefer to reach out to her directly, feel free to email her:

redwormgirl at g mail dot com

She would love to hear from David's friends and even those who just want to send her some regards. It's kind of lonely now for her and really quiet.
