I repeat, Weekly has blamed the economic debacle on the Iraq War.
Weekly also has conveniently ignored the fact that Obama has spent at least as much as Bush did in 8 years. All in 1 year. Kinda makes you miss bush:) |

So you're telling me that Obama was 100% correct on focusing for nearly a year primarily on health care reform when the economy is in the toilet and people are losing jobs and foreclosing left and right? Because it's good for the long-term future? Do you have any idea how many people would simply love to be able to afford to continue to have a home next month for their spouse/children and themselves? That's kind of vital to their children's long-term future too, ya think? Health care was A problem. It was not the BIGGEST problem. It was affecting a segment of the population. The biggest problem is affecting nearly ALL of the population. Oh yea, and just a few years ago my brother had, without insurance, been treated multiple times at hospitals without paying a dime for it. His credit was already in the shitter so having creditors after him to pay the bills doesn't mean shit to him. So ironically, even with the kind of person who WOULD be helped by this bill... (and before you say anything, no I do not agree with his approach, think he was being a leech on society or whatnot, but it shows that people without health care could get some health care for free if they knew what to do) |

You guys have to remember that the majority of Americans voted for Obama. A whole lot of the reason they voted for him was for health care reform. Tonight he delivered. The people demanded it and he gave it to them. Not many politicians do this.

nobody is gonna pay down the debt. The last POTUS to wipe out the debt was andrew jackson.
Robbie's got the best points here. it really doesnt matter that it passed. without cost controls, forcing the poor to buy insurance with government subsidies is only going to bankrupt the government faster. The only good thing is maybe the dems can move on to fuck up bank reform. |

Youre a fucking moron. I hate people who have no idea what they are talking about. Keep taking orders from the Republican talking points. All this talk of law suits and taking it to the Supreme Court is absolute nonsense. It is law now. Live with it. :2 cents: |

The left should indeed be celebrating as they have officially destroyed the constitutional republic that the founding father's created. From now on no one can realistically say that there is even a theoretical limit on government power in the US. A very very sad day that will live in infamy. :(

I was hoping he would do even half of what he claimed during the campaign. But so far he hasn't seemed to take charge on anything. The health bill is all Pelosi and Reid. He didn't write it or even help on it. My only gripe with Obama is that he doesn't seem to be in charge yet. For his sake, that better change before the next presidential election. |

Add $2.5 TRILLION lost to unnecessary tax breaks for the richest of the rich, and suddenly we're talking about $3.5 TRILLION added to our debt, and the righties are crying about the healthcare bill costs. Where were you when Bush handed Big Pharma HUGE tax breaks, with no way to pay for them? Hypocrites! |
And once again, Obama's deficit spending have made Bush look Jewish :)

That is true. Weekly is so stupid he doesn't realize how much we are all going to have to pay for this. I am happy that 36 of the states plan to fight this. |

I'd love to know how many Canadians you actually know. That whole "I know Canadians" dribble is nothing more than "I'm not racist because I have a black friend." You're pathetic. |

That's besides the point anyways. Tell me exactly how this helps the economy NOW. Helping it in the long run might be great, but tell someone who's about to be living on the street in a couple of months who omg happens to not be sick with anything major YET how the past year of focus on this bill has helped their lives. "Nothing has worked" because nothing was tried - he was focused on this bill instead of working to find a solution or perhaps trying something that might work. This could be the greatest solution to health care the world has ever seen, but tons of people will still be losing their homes and will be jobless, and most of those people won't give a flying fuck about this bill. Also, don't put words into my mouth like I can already tell you probably will - I do NOT blame the problems of this economy on Obama. Bush clearly fucked the country up due to the Iraq War among other things and Obama would have to reverse the momentum downward from the bank failures etc. in addition to building momentum upward. That said, he got elected just as much because he said he could fix the economy (and because everyone was scared to death of McCain dying = Palin as president), and it's such a more widespread problem affecting so many more people than this health care issue that he should have been PRIMARILY focused on THAT instead. But no, he saw the vast majority dem congress and senate and thought "shit, this health care reform thing will be a breeze to pass" and thought wrong, then rather than let it rest until later and shifting focus on something more important that he should have been focused on anyways, he basically waged a several month campaign to get health care passed. Hey, great. So when tons of democrats get voted out in the next elections, Obama can wonder why the people are so pissed at them after they passed the almighty health care reform bill. |
Prediction....
Largest turn over in the next two elections ever seen. And the people saying "Its now law"... time to exit the discussion because you are clueless. :2 cents: |

Actually he's right. The IRS usually settles. Do you live in America Weekly? Are you human? I don't think human intelligence can sink this low.

http://stockcharts.com/charts/historical/djia2000.html And before you and everyone blames Bush for the last 4 years, don't forget, the Democrats have controlled both houses of Congress for the last 4 years. Before you call me a Republican or anything else, Im an Independent. I vote for the candidate, not the party. |
I think the media is already going to derail obama's parade. Interviews today all stated that people are confused why he would spend so much time on healthcare now...with our economy and lack of jobs in the toilet.
