If I was supporting only myself like what someone single my age would be doing in an avg economy would, I'd be passing with flying colors. So fuck that part of your quote, buddy. Stop making some shitty fucking assumption/judgment. Maybe your family is one of the few that hasn't been affected by the economy - if so, congrats - want a fucking medal?

That's besides the point anyways. Tell me exactly how this helps the economy NOW. Helping it in the long run might be great, but tell someone who's about to be living on the street in a couple of months who omg happens to not be sick with anything major YET how the past year of focus on this bill has helped their lives. "Nothing has worked" because nothing was tried - he was focused on this bill instead of working to find a solution or perhaps trying something that might work. This could be the greatest solution to health care the world has ever seen, but tons of people will still be losing their homes and will be jobless, and most of those people won't give a flying fuck about this bill.

Also, don't put words into my mouth like I can already tell you probably will - I do NOT blame the problems of this economy on Obama. Bush clearly fucked the country up due to the Iraq War among other things and Obama would have to reverse the momentum downward from the bank failures etc. in addition to building momentum upward. That said, he got elected just as much because he said he could fix the economy (and because everyone was scared to death of McCain dying = Palin as president), and it's such a more widespread problem affecting so many more people than this health care issue that he should have been PRIMARILY focused on THAT instead. But no, he saw the vast majority dem congress and senate and thought "shit, this health care reform thing will be a breeze to pass" and thought wrong, then rather than let it rest until later and shifting focus on something more important that he should have been focused on anyways, he basically waged a several month campaign to get health care passed. Hey, great.

So when tons of democrats get voted out in the next elections, Obama can wonder why the people are so pissed at them after they passed the almighty health care reform bill.

Why are you wasting time with someone who thinks the economy is collapsing because of the Iraq War?

Actually he's right. The IRS usually settles. Do you live in America Weekly? Are you human? I don't think human intelligence can sink this low.

Actually it is you that is clueless. The HRC bill will be signed into law on Tuesday by Obama and will be the law of the land. The battle has been lost. Not sure why some people in this thread seem to be blissfully unaware of that....... perhaps because it is too horrible to comprehend. :(

Uh I think she was clear in what she said. It's not law until Tuesday, so until it passes, technically it's not law. It will be a law that never sees the light of day though.

Where were you when Bush handed Big Pharma HUGE tax breaks, with no way to pay for them?

The stock market hit record highs while Bush was president. Apparently, The tax breaks helped the economy until the price of oil pushed gas prices to $4.50-$5.00 a gallon, causing people to stop spending money, thus pushing the country into a recession.

And before you and everyone blames Bush for the last 4 years, don't forget, the Democrats have controlled both houses of Congress for the last 4 years.

Before you call me a Republican or anything else, Im an Independent. I vote for the candidate, not the party.

HandballJim 03-21-2010 09:39 PM

I think the media is already going to derail obama's parade. Interviews today all stated that people are confused why he would spend so much time on healthcare now...with our economy and lack of jobs in the toilet.

The stock market is populated by gambling addicts that have little or no respect for you or your life. Why do you, as a low income earner, think that this is a good thing?

And??? You own a house. Wow...I guess that puts you in the top 10 per cent.....not. How much can a house and condo cost in where???Vermont? Not a lot. Dude. I own houses, one of which is in London, and I don't consider myself anything but middle class. Which, in this instance, is pretty low income.

You are a fuckin moron. What you conciser to be stats, the IRS considers to be "tangible assets". We have real money and property in Vermont is not "cheap as chips"... Far from it.

Do you own a farm in Vermont?

Why would I? Don't get me wrong Montpellier is a nice town and the cooking school rocks. But it is not expensive. Real money owns yachts and planes and...well you get it. You are prolly like me. Middle class with a couple of cars and houses. Nothing wrong with it, but it ain't rich and you need health insurance that works. That is my point. You only have money until you get sick or in a car wreck and your insurance company fucks you over.
