Uhm, what Robbie said. Instead of having a polarized discussion of what the most extremist right wing folks or most extremist left wing folks have to say on a bad day . . . what about the issue? If the economy is devastated and I get mandatory health insurance tacked onto my personal expenses, how is that helpful or any kind of government accomplishment? |

1. black jesus still has to sign the bill. 2. The senate must still reconcile the bill. The 2 bills do not match and they MUST match. 3. Have a look at this.. http://blogs.abcnews.com/thenote/201...xits-bill.html Your doing good, keep hitting the crack pipe...or shall I say "sucking the govt dick".. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! :321GFY |

You are the one that thinks life is free. If someone can't pay for insurance, the rest of us should pay for it. I pay for my own insurance, and I would never want nor expect the government to pay for it. You keep telling everyone that doesn't want to pay for this bill that they must not be making money. In reality most of us do make money in porn, we just don't want to pay for deadbeat idiots like you. :2 cents::thumbsup |

The most messed up thing about this is that I would see setting up more urgent care (in place of emergency room or skipping the doctor) clinics as healthcare reform. Then people could talk about whether helping others was legit, but this is not that really. Forcing me to buy insurance I decided I could not afford is just an insurance industry bailout to go with AIG's sugar daddy deal. Forcing others to help pay to insure lower income people (rather than the more economical option of caring for them) is just more robbery without philanthropy. |

They do not have the authority. That is why 36 states plan to fight this. It violates the Tenth Amendment. "The Tenth Amendment restates the Constitution's principle of federalism by providing that powers not granted to the national government nor prohibited to the states by the constitution of the United States are reserved to the states or the people" |

I don't know why anyone argues politics on this board. Biggest waste of time in history. You all think you are so right. It's like a bunch of Rush and Michael Moore's on here. Idiot extremist from both parties that think their party can do no wrong and the other party is wrong all the time. I can't stand republicans and democrats. both are morons. I just get left having to pay for both of their bullshit. Their bull shit wars, and their bullshit lets tax the successful rich people to death because the poor should have everything for free. fuck you both. |
Now the the civilization destroyers in power in this country will give amnesty to over 10 million illegal aliens. Our taxes will go to pay for their health care:thumbsup
Congrats on ruining this once great country. Its really over now. |
Your insurance premiums already have paid and do pay for the health care of every poor person, citizen or not. Now you'll have accountability and no more raised rates without justification.
People will come around to this EXACTLY like they came around with SS and with Medicare. Think long term. |
I'm not sure what the cure is for delusion Tom. I would ask a doctor, but most of them are getting out of the business :)

People only think I'm a democrat based on opposition to most of what todays republicans stand for. If they weren't so ridiculously out of touch, you might think I'm a republican.

Common sense my ass...
Common sense does NOT fucking dictate that the government has the authority to force any person to buy a specific product, you fucking tool... |

I'm sure there were people who said with their dying breath that medicare would ruin our country too. In the end, there's nothing we can do about it other than vote. So if this makes people get out and vote, then good for all of us.

http://www.cnn.com/2010/POLITICS/03/...th.care.ahead/ I wouldn't start opening the bubbly quite yet. Add to that a shit load of states are already preparing to stop it as well. This was Obama's "swan song" and its too bad for him that no one will ever hear it sing. :2 cents: The one good thing is that it has motivated people to "do something" again, and people are pissed off. |
I agree. It took a shitty president and political party for people to start caring about their country again.

Hey GOP and DNC....:321GFY |
I was trying to write a nice response fillwed with flowery examples of how our current health care system has fucked people, but sometimes pictures are more effective than words:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...as_%25_GDP.png Wake up- this shit is fucked. You're paying for it, one way or another, you're paying for it. You can either pay into an insurance plan or you can wait until something bad happens to you or someone you love and then pay through the nose or declare bankruptcy. |

weekly I think you need to do some research on the principals in which this country were founded. It was setup to have MINIMAL federal government with the vast majority of power residing within the states' hands.
"The Tenth Amendment defines the total scope of federal power as being that which has been delegated by the people to the federal government, and also that which is absolutely necessary to advancing those powers specifically enumerated in the Constitution of the United States. The rest is to be handled by the state governments, or locally, by the people themselves." "The Tenth Amendment was adopted after the Constitutional ratification process to emphasize the fact that the states remained individual and unique sovereignties; that they were empowered in areas that the Constitution did not delegate to the federal government. With this in mind, any federal attempt to legislate beyond the Constitutional limits of Congress’ authority is a usurpation of state sovereignty – and unconstitutional." Those two blurbs were taken from http://www.tenthamendmentcenter.com/...alking-points/ The 10th Amendment is very, very important and you should also understand the spirit in which is was crafted by James Madison. |

They GOP could not stop it from happening. The states on the other handle can challenge it and will probably win. Do you even know the history of the United States? I saw you said that you lived in Russia before. The federal government can not bypass the Tenth Amendment or any other amendments. This will be fought in courts for years to come. |

I honestly don't think anyone who is pro obamacare (I use that as I'm pro healthcare reform, REAL reform, not this BS) reform has a firm grasp on the constitution or bill of rights. They just don't understand that while it is a good idea (cheaper healthcare for all and everyone covered) it's just not within the power of the federal government and more over, it shouldn't be. |

I believe the intent here all along was to pass it to be able to say they passed it and then worry about the fixes later. After the elections. Problem is I don't see Congress caring too much about going back and fixing this. |
