Good question. Well, I did try weed in high school and many people did. In the area that I lived in it was not uncommon. Even some school teachers themselves hinted that they tried weed. But, I did not smoke weed in more than 5 years, and I do not want to smoke it again.
I'm going to talk from personal experience. Weed is different from alcohol, yes. It is different, because alcohol maybe does damage to the liver and clouds the brain.
Weed does damage to the lungs. A weed cigarette does four times more damage to the lungs than a tobacco cigarette.
I think it's possible that I tried weed and there was some hash mixed in the weed that I didn't know about. Anyway, weed does cause you to have a higher appetite. Alcohol might make you throw up. It all depends on what your tolerance for the drug is. Different people have different tolerances.
Smoking weed causes you to have short term memory loss and it also causes enjoying movies such as "Half Baked" and "Cheech and Chong's Up in Smoke." It could get funny. A bad trip might happen where you can get really paranoid and you might think someone is chasing after you.
Having said that, I do never want to do hard drugs or any kind of drugs. I've even worked at night clubs as a security guard and my function was to stop people from smoking weed. But, people smoked weed anyways and it was hard to stop them.
So, last time I smoked weed was in high school. I really do think that weed makes people more retarded. It certainly made me more retarded at the time that I was smoking weed. After high school, I went to college for 3 years and I got my Accounting and Finance Advanced Diploma. I've worked as an accountant and I've done some internet business on the side, too.
It's difficult to say whether I have regrets about what I did in high school. Weed smoking could result in strange antisocial behaviours. I do not recommend it.
