I actually came across this earlier, and intend on hunting it down. I started getting a little more into the whole exploitation era of flicks. The old grindhouse and pulp style stuff. The local video exchange has a dusty neglected stack on shitty old VHS tapes in a corner that I occasionally venture into.

Ichi's a great film.

I live in a pretty backwoods whitebread mountain town, so the answer for me is "NOWHERE". I fluked out and came across a CD Plus that had a whole rack of J-horror stuff and I bought up everything they had once. Everything else I just download /shrugs

If I didn't download them I could be looking for years to find a copy of Zombie Girl Squad, lol...

A few weeks before we got married, we had a party for our friends where we all shared a movie we wanted the rest of the group to watch. We are all pretty big world cinema people and my husband has a particular interest in Asian cinema. For our pre-wedding party, he picked Audition as his selection! Now, we are all very open minded and don't mind head fucks or gore. However, I put that down as the most uncomfortable group watch of a film ever! He still doesn't get it either..lol

"Audition" is one of Miikes most ordinary movies, you should better avoid "Ichi", "Visitor Q" or "Fudoh" then. :)

When I was in the UK, there was silverscreen (gone bankrupt now I do believe) they used to have all the good horror movie from all kinds of countries, mainly the jap one's I got most of mine from there.

Haven't bought any for a while though.

Oh yeah, if you can get it. there is MPD-psycho (6 film series) by takashi mike (If i spelt it properly) if you can find the uncut one's they are pretty brutal.

The censored versions are fucking shit.

I love "Ichi" one of my all time favorites..I even own the special collector's edition DVD

Flowers of Flesh and Blood was one of the Guinnea Pig films too if I remember right (too lazy to check wikipedia or google while typing this up ;-). I always felt those movies were a little too fake looking to be taken seriously, but maybe Charlie Sheen is easily fooled ;-)

I worship Takashi Miike. I felt like such a huge nerd when I geeked out for his cameo in "Hostel" in a theater full of people who had no clue what I was geeking out over...I always found "Visitor Q" more disturbing than "Ichi" or "Audition". Especially the "milk bath" scene in the kitchen near the end...

Fucking "Murder Set Pieces"...ugh, Nick Palumbo is such a hack. I actually met him a couple times and he's just always coming across as a pretentious douchebag. If you're making schlocky b-movies, that's fine, but don't pretend they are great art. I'm an avid fan of the most low grade zero budget films you can find, but I know that it's not a second coming of Gone With The Wind. He makes Vincent Gallo look downright humble...ahem, end of rant on that ;-)

"Salo" is ok, but overrated, imho

"Cannibal Holocaust" is a classic exploitation flick, but I could have done without the animal torture scenes...

"Men Behind The Sun" was alright, but I was expecting more...too much hype going into it I guess.

"Irreversible" was pretty good, but I don't think I need to see it again.

I saw "Tokyo Gore Police" mentioned..what a fun ride that was...I had a blast with the geysers of blood and entrails everywhere.


For people looking for a good source for Asian horror DVDs, www.edaymovie.com is an amazing site. I order from them all the time and have never been disappointed. They even carry the Region 0 Starmax Special Edition of "Battle Royale".

On the subject of headfuck films, I saw The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo last night.

It went on a bit, but there is some seriously sick shit happens in the film.

It's subtitled, but anyone wanting something nasty should check that out.. :2 cents:

My bad, that wasn't the Welcome Home Brother Charles trailer I thought it was. Anyway, it's a pretty crazy black vengence flick. Brother Charles chokes men with his dick. I guess there's only so much they can out on YouTube.
