I have heard good and bad things about Canada's Health insurance. Does it matter what part you live in? Pay more Taxes?
What amount do you pay in taxes?

I hope she is doing well, I arrived in Phoenix right after this happened, and there were several police cars on both streets. Sad Sad thing to happen to anyone!

i agree extra health insurance is 100% valid for people traveling especially to the US where hospitals charge insane amounts for everything down to a fucking bandaid. BUT Wildblyss says she's known people who have gone to the US WITHOUT extra insurance and gotten into major accidents and the government has paid for everything while they were in a US hospital.

anyway this thread isn't about medical insurance, it's about wishing Tabitha well

i believe if the person in question in incapacitated within the united states, the costs are covered.. if it's a broken arm etc than we're on our own

Health Care in Canada is a provincial responsibility not Federal and thus it differs slightly from province to province. Here's what BC has to say:

Not to hijack this thread but yes Canadians should most certainly spring for the extra $25 or so in travel insurance when they're out of the country.

And as for Tabby, glad she is showing some improvement. Let's hope it's a sign of a continuing trend. I hope I am not being unrealistic to say it would be nice to see her up and about in a year or less. These sorts of injuries, one never knows. I just hope she is spared the 3+ years of rehab this sort of thing usually results in. She's too cool a chick to be held back like that!

Tabitha has great medical insurance through our company and is getting the best care. She will be flown home this week on an air ambulance which is all covered by insurance.
