Ugh, the sad thing is two years ago when we were up there she was sitting on the railing. She wasn't drunk at the time, but she did have a beer in her hand. I was giving her shit for it because it was freaking me out that she was up on a railing balancing and drinking.

While friends are not their brother's keeper, imho, nobody should have been serving her booze if she had already been drinking steadily all day as Abbie had mentioned. Tabitha is not the type of girl who is able to hide being drunk very well. She gets obviously drunk and anyone could spot it, you don't need to have SmartServe training to see it.

Wow! Goes to show that in one instant your life can be changed forever. It is so sad to hear of things like this. People can go on and on about if she was drinking, how much she was drinking, sitting where she should not have been sitting etc. and it still does not change the fact that something tragic happened. This isn't a time for blame or for woulda/shoulda/coulda but a time for pulling together and sending every positive thought we can muster her way. I don't care if people believe in positive energy, prayers or feel that none of it makes a difference, the fact is, it can't hurt at this point. So close those eyes and send those positive thoughts her way and maybe, just maybe she can grab on to them and use them as strength.

I don't mean to come across like a bitch, but the only people who really know what happened were the ones that were right there with her.

Operating under the notion that she had a drink when she fell, for all we know, someone bought her a drink and carried it to her. The bartender/server could have not even had any interaction with her.

While I agree that shoulda/coulda/woulda thoughts don't do anyone any good, I also think it doesn't do any good to speculate on what role Hooters actually played.

Not sure if you've been to that Hooters, but that balcony can get pretty crowded. No idea what the occupancy limit is, but I have been up there when you can't even move. Nobody should be able to sit on the railings - sober or drunk.

And again, going by what Abbie said in her post, it sounds like she shouldn't have been in the bar to begin with. I won't even speculate on whether they were serving her alcohol or not, and certainly not laying any blame, but the reality is Hooters will have some explaining to do because she was on their property when it happened.

Never mind the fact that the rail is also capped with 90 degree pointed steel plates. You can't even set a drink on that rail without it falling off.

I was sitting there yesterday morning and there were some detectives talking to the manager. The manager told them that one of the servers walked by the area and nobody was sitting on the rail. 45 seconds later the server walked by again and Tabitha had fallen. They were also discussing the security camera footage.

One of those detectives should be working at hooters instead :pimp

If you saw the signs then you know they were printed on regular paper and taped to the rail. Does that seem like a fair indication that they have been there all along?
