Obama campaigned on ending the occupation of Iraq (coming along nicely). And increasing troops in Afghanistan. He sent more than even military expected and they were delighted.
Oh and dont forget Confederate History Month in Virgina where slavery never existed, lmfao. What a boner that was for that newbie. |

They were cheering on the very administration that could not give a flying shit about them, as they were not the rich. They were busy calling everyone who did not support the idiotic Bush decisions traitors, and bad Americans... that's where they were! Hypocritical, racist, douches, who are so brainwashed by the far right wing asswipes, that they continued to cheer on their own demise. Obama is trying to help them, and they are so fucking retarded, that they believe what the multi millionaires on the right convince them to believe. I would love them to have their own country - good riddance! |

I've been following the Militia movement inside the US. They've been active long before Obama was even on the radar. They really got a boost after the events of 9-11. Stop with they're all racist red necks propaganda you have fallen for. They're resisting what they feel is a over reaching government.

Between 35,000 to 50,000 troops will remain in Iraq, he said. They would be withdrawn gradually until all U.S. forces are out of Iraq by December 31, 2011 -- the deadline set under an agreement the Bush administration signed with the Iraqi government last year." So... I dunno what to tell ya. My phrase "coming along nicely" just reflects that it's on track according to reports. |

If the troops just knew the truth about the depleted uranium they would join the militia movement in a second. They are already catching on to who was truly behind 9/11. Maybe they can discredit this military man who just came out. :)

i say let these right wingers play in the woods with their guns & act like they are defending their liberty. As long as they dont threaten/attack innocent people, they are not doing anything illegal.
As soon as one of these militias issues a threat, the Fibbies will shut them down in an hour. Should one of them actually attack anyone, the local SWAT team will clean house. The US military won't even get a phone call. |

But I agree let them have thier militia. Makes it easier to identify who to shoot. |
You guys have this picture in your head of the Militia on one side and the American Military on the other. That's not how it would look.

Let me ask the Americans here. Would you join a militia to overthrow the current government. I won't. That's my vote. What say you other Americans? |
Quote:
Every member of the military won't do as they are told. Many of them would refuse to attack fellow US citizens, but there are some that would follow orders and do what they are told. A handful of military guys in helicopters, planes and tanks would flatten just about any militia uprising in no time. It's not like the entire country would rise up against the government. Half of those eligible to vote don't even bother. If they can't be bothered to get off their ass for a few minutes every four years do you think they are going to take up arms? |

Much more of a threat are the lone wolves like McVeigh, Joe Stack & the school/officeplace shootings the last decade. These lone wolves have done far more damage to innocents then any militia. |

Let's say these militias could overthrow the government. Does anyone here actually want them in charge? Oh and by the way pro-militia nuts, during the time in country is in total chaos because of you, our enemies are getting ready to attack because they see that we are in a weakened state. So good luck when you take over. Good luck running the show. Good luck setting a budget, allocating funds, fixing bridges and roads etc., providing basic necessities to the 300 million Americans you just "freed" form tyranny.

I think you'll find many retired and active military personnel involved in the local militia movements as well as local law enforcement. Many may not be "out of the closet" due to it being bad for their careers but that doesn't mean they aren't involved or don't have family who are. I'm not saying anything stupid is ever going to happen but if it did you might find that the people with the big guns aren't necessarily on the side you think they are. It's not liberals who are joining the military or law enforcement. |
