Nats 4 seems technically better in many areas, but they have really botched up the ease of use, so upgrading my 2 programs will be put off until I absolutely have to or they fix the horrible clunky interface.

I agree that it's not as easy to use for the affiliate as version 3 was. But once you get the hang of it, it's no big deal.

I also wouldn't even consider either dropping or adding a sponsor based on which version of NATS they are using.

Sales are hard to come by these days, and my method is to promote whatever makes a sale. They could be using a stats interface drawn with crayons and cardboard for all I care as long as they make sales.

With all that said...we are one of the programs that chose not to upgrade to V4 because we don't like it as much as V3. We don't hate it...we just don't like it.

We are making huge changes and customizing NATS4 to Naughty America's needs. Come next week we will have new and improved tools that we have been working on hard to make you guys more money and convert even better than we already do.

I remember using Photoshop 5.0...Every time they upgraded I had to alter how I worked just a little bit every upgrade. I do agree that when you are used to something, change is frustrating. In the long run, it is going to be well worth it. I would much rather be using Photoshop CS4 than 5.0.

If anybody needs help during this brief transition then hit me up. This is going to be a great year to promote us.

I think that from an affiliate standpoint there is definitely a small learning curve with NATS4. Some of the quirks are definitely annoying, but once you get the hang of it I like it much better.

I don't think any affiliate software would please everyone. There were complaints about NATS3 and that's why they made improvements in NATS4.

People don't like NATS for silly things, like too many steps to generate link codes -- when in actuality this can be customized by the program owners and setup many different ways.

No. It's backwards compatible. If you want more accurate tracking then we RECOMMEND you change them. It is NOT REQUIRED. All we are doing is improving our program.

TMM creates a link redirect for all of your affiliate links so that the change is transparent. I checked all of the links myself after they did it and it works flawlessly... I am sure they do the same for every client.

Well that is a damn shame... because we should be working together and it sounds like you would need some quality programs to take their place. Bummer. If things change then please keep us in mind.

love that you can trac sales by GEO in nats4, makes filtering traffic even easier since some dont know how to convert some countries. Nats4 makes more $$ than nats3 to me.

Agree that it would be cool if I could import standard settings i want to use/see into all nats4 programs i use, like a settingupload plugin, nats5?

No historical import from Nats3 to 4 is a real bummer. Especially for the older programs.

I have no prob with v4 other than i like the old style long length full referral urls that v3 gives. If there are 300 ref urls one day, you should see all 300 like v3.

v4 makes breaking down by cmpn very nice and also the submit/approval data is only avail in v4.

So we need a best of both worlds. :)

v3 is a pleasure (and necessity for some people with the better, longer url referrals) to use.

swankdollars just installed nats3 skin on their nats4 program and that looks and works great.

keep in mind ive been playing around with nats4 since mofos installed it 2 years ago.

not a nats4 newbie here...
