Well, I guess I have been helping to shape the public face of Internet porn for 10 years now. Have designed multitudes of sites of just about every flavor & niche you can think of. Not all, but many.

Over the years, I've been a raving lunatic assmonkey on this board, (and many others), but have never actually advertised much at all. I am completely 100% self-taught. There's no school for "How To Make Bad Ass Porn Site Front Graphics". But I did go to school for advertising, and have (I think) a great eye/ear for both audio & visual composition, and that helps.

Mostly my clients have always been longer term corporate contracts for ongoing work and exclusivity, and so I don't very often post up links or a portfolio or anything. I figure, if I'm not soliciting for work, I shouldn't offer a folio (or signature or avatar) which ultimately will only waste people's time on needless inquiries.

I don't participate in "design contests" or seek industry awards. I don't do radio shows or go to industry conventions. I'm here in this biz these days strictly to do business, and I don't personally see any business value (for myself) to any of those things.

I'm hunting wab-bits) about who I let onto the network. But for the last eight sites that have 'made the cut' they are doing extremely well. And, as I said, it's all pure profit because we don't demand exclusivity.
