For example, CBS is currently 42 approve, 50 disapprove.

Ok not completely up to date but there are links for those interested and it stops the squabbling about X chart is fake, Y chart is the real one... They're just polls they can vary wildly. Having a bunch of charts in one spot at least gets you a much more accurate read ;)

Hahhaah I didn't say I had the answers! But I do believe I have a firm grasp on the problems :) That, of course, may be debatable BUT I'm a firm believer in placing logic and reason above every and all emotions when it comes to defining legislation and laws.

In that respect I try and analyze the data sets presented to me without bias. For me personally, and being that I'm a Libertarian, I put individual freedom, liberties, and property rights above EVERYTHING else. This is a core value for me that I will never sway on.

REGARDLESS of the issue I apply only these core values. I don't care if it's the KKK wanting to hold a rally at the local park (which I would NOT want but it IS their right) or if it's raising minimum wage. I try and leave all personal attachments completely out of the picture. This is where I know I differ with a LOT of people, specifically those that lean to the left. For example in healthcare... I think cheaper healthcare and easy access for everyone is an AWESOME idea, I fucking LOVE it. However when I remove my own personal feelings from the issue what I'm left with is. How can it possibly be cheaper if you have to add a massive amount of overhead in order to regulate the healthcare industry... That really just means it's more expensive... ANY way you slice it. The money is moved around differently however so it makes it look cheaper. Before I get the "lower the cost by having everyone insured so ER visits by idiots aren't driving up the bills" speech. I'd like to say that I see that is an issue and something needs to be done... However something ELSE could be done to address that problem without putting in place more government regulation and more employees and more spending...

Hahha I know I just rambled on there but that's a little insight as to all of my posts in these little political debates. You can count on my stance never changing regardless of the content of the legislation ;)

You could go on and on forever about healthcare and I think that's really this is going to be this guys main legacy or demonization in the end. Fact is though, we all know something had to be done and no one was doing shit about shit and you damn well know republicans weren't about to tackle something like this. I wouldn't be surprised if they are secretly happy this is being handled now. Shit they are probably going to vote for him for another four just to make sure this crap takes hold for better or worse.

Uh, Mitt Romney proposed his healthcare bill before Obama.

I'd say the same thing about Democrats... Obama included...

Getting elected president has become more about your personal charisma than anything else anyway. Obama is very charming, he knows how to talk to people and that, sadly, is what most people are voting on these days.

After Bush people REALLY wanted someone with more "stage presence" and public speaking skills...

As much as I hated Bush in office I feel like too much focus was paid to his poor public speaking skills. Does anyone even realize these days that someone can have very poor public speaking skills but still be able to lead this country better than anyone else?

I for one wish there was a president who would stand up and speak like a normal human being with complete disregard for the PC BS... no prewritten speeches just some note cards... but there's too many expectations for that to be feasible these days. Amplified by Bush's stay in office.

It's one of the reasons I really like Ron Paul though... He doesn't sound the same all the time. You can tell he genuinely understands economics and the topics he speaks on very very well. Even if you disagree with the view point. Every president in the last X years, Obama included, rely on creative lead-ins to their prepared speech on any given topic. That's just politics but I don't like it and it doesn't give me faith in the person who's spouting it, only doubt. BUT I'm not the average voter either so it's really not targeted to me ;)

Registering Independent varies per state. Some allow, others do not.

Mitt Romney is a fascinating guy. That's my home he won governorship in and if you had any clue about that state the idea of a mormon with magic underwear winning is just beyond belief. I live on the left coast now.

Ron Paul is too much an extremist IMO. If we were to gradually ease into him and his policies, I'd feel differently. But going from Obama to someone like Ron Paul would be a rough slap to the face.

Well, I got the magic underwear in there, right?

It's like he's a governor from a liberal state that's more liberal than california, so if you're backing him you might be more ignorant than I know you are.

I guess that would be my point.

P.S, I guess your work doesn't take much cause you were supposed to get back to it about like fucking almost an hour ago. Shit, glad I dont' work for you. This could explain a lot about our economy these days.

I'm a big fan of NOT passing legislation because it's "better than nothing". It's so terribly, terribly, terribly difficult to undue :(

Everything you just said is really what made people like Little Bush before hindsight. Just saying. He could talk to anyone. That was his skill. I really think he wasn't as evil as people think and just an idiot who was under qualified for the job, but maybe I fell in love with that Olive Stone movie. I used to think he was pure evil until that movie

Multitasking is a skill, apparently something you don't have. I don't hire ignorant try-hards, regardless.

I'm also not following on how someone who would follow him would be ignorant?

You do understand he tested with a 143 on the IQ tests? I'm positive that's higher than you.

To start, I never once claimed Bush was better than Clinton.

Again, many polls have Obama with a higher disapproval rate than an approval rate. To think Obama is untouchable is laughable.

I agree - Mitt Romney is, by far, the GOP's strongest candidate they currently have to run against Obama. I still can't figure out how McCain beat him out as the frontrunner last time.

Obama has been incorporating numerous Romney ideas and suggestions, forcing Romney to debate against himself on many of the issues. Can you say "flip-flop"?

Obama vs Romney will be the tightest race possible, but in the end, Obama will still win.... unless Obama ties Bo to his car's roof for a 12 hour road trip!

You're big on numbers and I'm not or I would blow this one out of the waters, but my SAT's were very fucking high. I can't remember my last IQ but it was at least in that area, maybe less though.

I actually forced lower scores though to prove a point, myself and a few people I was working with. It is really funny how useless all the final test scores are and so many underachievers seem to succeed far better than these so called geniatrics!

I don't think it will be that tight. The republicans will throw him to the wolves much the way the Dems did Dukakis in 88 (i think it was).

Things could change though
