Like who? Besides Peyton Manning who basically had to wait until the Patriots were at their lowest moment and then couldn't beat the Saints

Just went to the Denver Broncos. 25th.

justinsain 04-22-2010 07:08 PM

That's very respectable considering all the scrutiny placed on him :thumbsup

I hope he is able to adapt and be productive in the NFL.

And for my next trick....

Did anyone else hear that guy interviewing Tebow call him the greatest college player ever at any position.

He should have come to this thread first so he could get his facts straight :upsidedow

Congrats to Timmy for pulling it off in the 1st round. Now lets see who matures and succeeds the best in the NFL the #1 pick or the 25th? My bet is the Gator :2 cents:

On the other hand my Bucs won a SB with a QB chosen in the 9th round( which doesn't exist anymore by the way ). Kurt Warner was never drafted. Brett Favre was a 2nd round pick. Drew Brees was 2nd round pick. Tom Brady was a 6th round pick. #199 to be exact. Yes 198 players were taken BEFORE Tom Brady.

QBs taken before Tom Brady in the 2000 NFL draft.

1 18 Chad Pennington Marshall New York Jets
3 65 Giovanni Carmazzi Hofstra San Francisco 49ers
3 75 Chris Redman Louisville Baltimore Ravens
5 163 Tee Martin Tennessee Pittsburgh Steelers
6 168 Marc Bulger West Virginia New Orleans Saints
6 183 Spergon Wynn Texas State Cleveland Browns

I'm not sure why the Broncos picked him up. They have their QB bench already. Anyway, he might turn out into another Brady. Looks like a few years in development before he gets his chance to break out.

Ha ha, love to see the haters with their jaws on the floor. Good for you Tebow:thumbsup

That's not fifty percent of bowls though. More guys. I didn't know bradshaw was a first rounder and forgot plunket even won those bowls. I remember him from the patriots lol

6 of the last 11 Super Bowl winning QBs were not 1st rounders. Of the 22 starting QBs in the last 11 super bowls 11 were not 1st rounders.

An article in this morning's sports page went on about how Jacksonville will be kicking themselves if Tebow turns out to be successful and how they will at least get one sellout because of him when the Broncos play the Jags in this season's opener. It's unlikely he will play but one can hope.

So much was put into his throwing mechanics and how it won't work in the NFL but at least the Broncos had the foresight to recognize that he has the physical size and ability and most importantly the willingness to adapt and change whatever is asked of him in order to be productive. I believe his desire and work ethic will make him a winner in the NFL.

Even more ironic since the jags severely reached on thier 1st round pick.

Mutt 04-23-2010 07:42 AM

and the Bills take a small running back who in the NFL will be pretty much a glorified kick returner - a team that has no QB, almost no offensive line, no pass rush whatsoever and with the 9th pick take that. :helpme

Claussen and McCoy still out there

I've been a Miami Dolphins fan for almost as long as they've been in the league.

The Miami - Buffalo rivalry was one of the best in the NFL :thumbsup

( sigh ) Those were the good old days.

There was some distant rumor last year about the JAGS being one of those teams that were considering relocating to LA (Los Angeles). Never heard anything else about it though. I guess Jacksonville has a pretty small media market

Even if they have done that, they should have, and most of them still end up being busts. I think you're better off building your defense of offensive lines first and then playing around with quarterbacks. Quarterbacks are finicky cause some are awesome with the right coach and system (i.e Matt Casell) but not so good when they are off on their own having to figure out a new game plan)! That and corner back has to be the toughest positions coming out of college. Easiest has to be running back since it's mostly natural talent and you can learn the plays as your grow.

justinsain 04-29-2010 10:05 AM

They just said on my local news that Tebow is expected to sign a five year contract with Denver for $30 million plus incentives based on performance.

Not bad for a guy some projected to go 3rd or 4th round and maybe not even play at the QB position :winkwink:

justinsain 08-15-2010 09:02 PM

Tebow threw a couple nice passes in tonight's preseason game AND he scored
his first NFL touchdown running it in on the last play of the game. A defender tried to stop him at the goal line and Tebow
put his head down and did what he does best. The two collided. Tebow got up and the defender did not. :)

Looks like he'll be the #2 Quarterback and should get some playing time this regular season.

Not a bad start for a guy many were saying wouldn't even get drafted.
