I've never lived in a Condo.

I own a condo; I rent it out to my friend. It's nice, but I couldn't imagine living there.

3) Security. In Thailand homes are always broken into. It's much harder to break into a higher floor condo. You CAN secure a house so they can not get in but if this is your first and you don't know anything about security, don't take that task on.

Good luck! :thumbsup

Same with Rio. Houses are a real security hazard even for Brazilians but a foreigner, forget about it.

I want land and lots of it. Condo won't cut it with kids.

9) Back to security. In a home, thieves like to break through the roof, ripping the tile off and coming in through the roof. This happens often. I can tell you how to defeat them should you get a house but it's not cheap. They can't do this in a condo. You're pretty safe in there.

i prefer a house because if i am going to own something, i want my space. not assholes all around. also, having to pay 200-300 dollars a month in 'condo fees' suck.

That's a fucking great idea, I'm getting a condo for now. Thanks, man.

You can always count on me for ways to kill Thai whores. I could write a book on the subject.

DWB cracks me up...

I would take a house 1st, a condo 2nd...but where I am looking it is out of my price range...leaning towards a co-op. In NYC suburbs its all about the school district...this is what you pay for here.

If I was you in Thailand I would stay renting. :2 cents:

This is also good advice given the current political situation. We don't know what property laws, if any, will change should a new party take control. We could all be left holding our cocks.

I always say to anyone investing in Thailand, to never invest more than you're willing to lose.

I cannot say which is our favourite as we have never stayed in a condo. We live in a nice spacious 3 bedroom bungalow, a studio on the side, with a nice 3 tier garden, a pool & jacuzzi at the top with a waterfall. From the top of our garden, you can see over the sights of Bournemouth & Poole, where they do fireworks on the pier. Were happy for a few years here.
