I made over 10k this month :2 cents: Im shooting almost every day right now :) I have over 5 k in bills and my roomate moved out so I have no choice but to hustle. I laugh when I hear shooters say they have no reason to go to the shows. 2 words my friends. SPEED NETWORKING. Last summer was a constant struggle to make the 5k a month. I guess being in LA over a year is finally paying off for me.

If you have been established a while correct... however to PROFIT 10K you need to make a fuckload more than that.

My guess is that Brian is WAY more connect with agencies than I am.

i know where I am there is no one shooting anymore. there use to be 8 to 10 of shooting pretty consitently. Thats all gone. As more of the shooters leave slowly the prices will go up. But not for another year, year and a half...

Some turned to shooting weddings as it was more profitable. One travels around Europe shooting hotels and beaches for travel magazines and brochures.

It certainly started in 2005 but here in the UK it was still good then.

yeah - "making" $10k means to me personal income after all costs - and i heavily doubt that there are many that do that

I use to make $2k off of one wedding before porn and I was doing a few a month without even advertising. I got into porn because I love porn I hated shooting weddings but I could probably make more doing weddings if I had built my name up as a wedding photographer. I don't blame them for switching they are in it for the money.:2 cents:

Plus its hard to have a real relationship or date anyone when you shoot porn so you have to be willing to date swingers type chics or straight up whores which I have learned from experience.

And really thats the thing... I dont care how you slice it the future is gonna be slim pickens in this Industry for Content Providers.

Shooting weddings can be tough but from my nieces wedding in the UK I was shocked at what they were charging for a days work. Love it or hate it, it puts food on the table.

I would of agreed with you about the girls you meet in the biz. Until I met Eva, got lucky there. Very lucky.

The shame is there are some excellent shooters going to waste while people buy content at a price that simply is not good enough.

People buy content for different purposes and in all different ranges.
Providers only having one range or price level are the ones that have a great name but drive a shitty car and can hardly afford a dinner out.

And if you have good loyal clients that trust you quality matters way less, what does matter though is that they know you will deliver and deliver on time every time....something that takes years to master.
No cheap shooter will EVER take that client from you

This goes for exclusive / non exclusive / semi exclusive

One example would be that through the resession we have more than doubled our business, i suspect that a big part of the reason is that people dont fuck around with their cash anymore....they want to know that when they pay for goods they will arrive.
