That really looks like it hurts, hope you get better soon. I'm sure it doesn't make you feel any better but at least it didn't hit your face.

La_Sexorcist 04-29-2010 04:16 PM

Because it will blow your ass to hell!! Ouch, they should put those pictures on the labels of coolant/anti-freeze

What sort of pain relief did they give you?

Since I left the Hospital nothing at all just plain old painkillers type shit you would give your two yr old kid lol. I was on morph and few other things in there but I have certain reactions to Morphine as such couldn't have much at a time.

It really only hurts when I move so lol been trying not to do much of that.

Thanks all for the warm wishes.

It's like anything you're used to, you become too familiar, too complacent, so one silly mistake can cause big probs... my father in law opened an oil cap while the engine was running (why would you do that?) and got hot, used oil squirted in his eyes! Luckily he was ok... glad to hear Darkhorse is too. :) (I just typed out "Darkhose" - how appropriate! :winkwink: )

TiaLing 05-05-2010 08:06 PM

Oh no .... hope you're ok ! Ouch !

TurboAngel 05-06-2010 07:09 AM

I can't remember the last time I opened a radiator cap. Maybe 15 years ago?

Thank god for cars getting better in the last few years. I had a Mustang that I worked on all the time, mostly because it was always broke -- but one time I was dumb enough to pull off a cap from a hot radiator. I got sprayed, but my catlike reflexes saved my face from getting fried. I had coveralls on which protected any part of me that got wet.

get well soon, and remember that Aloe vera is your friend.

dmhubby 05-06-2010 08:59 AM

Damn ... be careful dude! Hope you heal up well.

Cyandin 05-06-2010 09:19 AM

Wait, I'm not sure I'm understanding this incident correctly. Did your upper radiator hose actually fail while you were working on the car doing something else? Your post made it seem like you do indeed know better than to open a hot radiator cap. If you didn't, then while I do sympathize with what clearly seems like an incredibly painful experience - you did have it coming. If you got sniped by a random hose failure, then I'm doubly sorry. I'm quite a gearhead myself, and shudder to think about a hose just blowing up like that.

Either way, I hope you get better soon, and that the complete fuzziness of your entire head can heal in short order. :winkwink:

Poindexterity 05-06-2010 09:41 AM

fuck dude!
you're lucky you still have working nose mouth and eyes!

gratz on that at least.

Cyber Fucker 05-06-2010 11:13 AM
